Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8

"Everyone, please! We need to calm down and figure this out together," she urged, her voice cutting through the noise.

With her courage, she hoped to bring some order to the chaos and find a solution to the problems at hand.

"Ma'am, someone mixed the wrong component with the initial one. It was added to the main container, and now everything we've prepared is ruined. We need to start all over," one of the workers exclaimed, panic evident in his voice.

"Everyone, please calm down. We will find out who did this; there's no need to panic or blame each other. We have no proof of who is responsible, so let's wait for Mr. Eiden and see who is behind this," Iliana replied, her voice steady and authoritative. "As Allah says in the Quran, 'Behind every hardship is ease,' and everything happens for a reason. So please, everyone, take a deep breath and relax."

Her words resonated in the room, bringing a hush over the crowd. Jungkook watched her intently, admiring her confidence and poise. "She truly is a queen, unafraid of anything," he thought, letting out a sigh.

Iliana stepped outside the industry, her voice firm as she addressed the workers. "Everyone, please leave the premises immediately. For the next few days, we will review the biodata of every worker until we find out who is responsible for this mess."

As the workers began to file out, Jungkook approached Iliana, grabbing the hem of her abaya gently. "Listen, green chameleon, from now on, call me Jungkook. I've changed my name—it's Jeon Jungkook now."

Iliana sighed, a mix of exasperation and amusement. "Is that really the most important thing to focus on right now? Shouldn't we be concentrating on solving this problem?"

"Yes I mean! you should know," Jungkook started, but Iliana cut him off.

"Okay, let's just head to the company first," she said, redirecting their focus back to the pressing issue at hand.

Jungkook held the door open for Iliana, a playful grin on his face. "What's this for, Jeon?" she asked, glancing down at the ground as she stepped inside.

"It's my choice to be a gentleman, so get in. We're running late, green chameleon," he replied, rolling his eyes with a smirk.

Iliana chuckled, her mood lifting. "Yeah, Jeon Archaeopteryx," she teased, and Jungkook couldn't help but smile at the sound of her laughter.

Once they arrived at the company, Iliana wasted no time. "Asma, bring me the biodata of every worker right now and make sure to grab some coffee too; my headache is really kicking in," she said, rubbing her temples as she settled into her chair. Asma quickly returned with the coffee, handing a cup to Iliana. "Here's yours mam."

"Now, head to the industry and make sure everyone has left. Take a few colleagues with you to lock up, and don't forget to bring some guards to keep watch," Iliana instructed, her focus shifting back to the details on her desk.

Meanwhile, Jungkook was sifting through the workers' details, taking sips of his coffee. "Green chameleon, I'll also inform my guards to check on the workers by going to each of their homes," he said, determined to help find out who was responsible for the chaos.

"Good idea, Jeon Archaeopteryx," Iliana said, but just then, she accidentally spilled coffee on her hand. She jumped up, a look of distress crossing her face. "My favorite abaya is ruined..." she pouted, momentarily forgetting Jungkook was right there.

Seeing her distress, Jungkook immediately rushed over, though he didn't touch her. Instead, he quickly called for a female colleague. "Please help her," he urged, anxiety evident in his voice as he kept glancing between Iliana and her hand. The colleague hurried over, applying an antidote to Iliana's hand with a gentle touch. "Be careful, ma'am. You need to know that if anything happens to you, the whole company will be affected," she said quietly, her tone filled with concern.

Jungkook felt a wave of tension wash over him, wanting to lighten the mood, but when he caught Iliana's glare, he quickly thought better of it. She was focused on her hand, and he didn't want to add to her frustration. Frustrated himself, he tossed his cigarette aside and stepped outside, his mind racing as he drove away at high speed.

"Jungkook, what's going on with you? Why were you so worried?" he muttered to himself as he headed straight home, knocking on the door with urgency.

His mother opened the door, her expression shifting to concern as she noticed his frustration. "My child, weren't you at work? What happened?" she asked, her voice filled with worry. Meanwhile, his father sat on the couch, engrossed in reading the Quran.

Jungkook made his way over to his father. "Can I sit here for a while?" he asked quietly. His father shot him a glance, then looked at his wife, who nodded in understanding. With a resigned sigh, his father closed the Quran and placed it on the table, giving his full attention to Jungkook.

Taking a deep breath, Jungkook spoke calmly, "I've changed my name to my grandfather's name, and... I don't know, but my mind is really troubled. I can't figure out what my heart is saying versus what my mind thinks."

Syed Ahmed sighed deeply, sensing the weight of his son's turmoil. "Did you meet someone? I mean, a girl?" he inquired gently.

Jungkook hesitated before responding, "I've been collaborating with Mohammad Company and its CEO... I feel this strange connection with her, but I can't explain it."

"Listen, my child," Syed Ahmed said, squeezing Jungkook's hand reassuringly. "I'll pray to Allah to soothe your heart and guide you. And about Mohammad Company, I want to meet the CEO. Your grandfather had dealings with them; they were working on a cancer treatment when... well, your grandfather tragically passed away in an accident. The CEO and his wife also passed away, and they had a daughter who must be in charge now, right?"

"Yes, Appa," Jungkook replied, feeling a mix of hope and uncertainty as he absorbed his father's words. His mother watched them both with a calm presence, offering silent support.
