Liam sat on the edge of his bed, elbows resting on his knees, staring at the floor.
While in the room, I started to wonder what the hell was really going on… like how is there people with powers, and how do I come into play with all of this… as I thought about it, 3 hours went by without even realizing it, and suddenly I felt a strong presence around me, almost as if it was a part of me like a body part.
People with powers… things that didn't make sense… and whatever was really going on behind all of it.
"…What the hell…" Liam whispered to himself.
BANG—
The door slammed open so hard it bounced off the wall.
"Yoooo, how's it going, Liam?" Yaso's voice echoed through the room.
Liam jumped, blinking fast. "Nothing much… but I feel like there's something or someone watching me… or around me."
"Ohhh, that's just your own unique divine power," Yaso said casually, stepping fully into the room.
"Right… what's that again?" Liam asked.
"You know… like your special ability… only you have," Yaso replied with a grin.
"So what's my special power then?" Liam asked, leaning forward a little.
"Well… your power is actually one of a kind and can even rival me, but I don't think you would win in a fight, though," Yaso said, stretching his arms lazily.
"Okay… so like, you're the best one here out of everyone?" Liam asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No… I'm the best one. Period. You see… I was made with the key purpose of being the best all around, and no one can stop me," Yaso said, shrugging.
"So like… what… you're a god or something?" Liam asked, trying to wrap his head around it.
"Basically," Yaso said, smirking.
"Okay… so what can you do then?" Liam asked.
"Well… first I'll start by saying everyone is born with powers… but the government either takes them away at birth with a special device called ZERO, which essentially removes all your power to zero percent… which is how it got its name. But in some cases, the device doesn't work because of multiple reasons… like maybe you have multiple powers… or your divine is too powerful… or… they purposely don't remove yours because you were born in the Leo Sage… being brought into this world to fight… or some other reason," Yaso explained.
"I assume I'm here for a different reason then…" Liam said slowly.
"Yup… you're actually supposed to be dead… but for reasons, they decided it would be best if you're still alive, as long as you do what they say," Yaso said.
"Who's they?" Liam asked, frowning.
"Oh, right…" Yaso said, stretching his head like he was thinking. "We call them the Order… but they basically give us rules and things we need to follow… or there's severe punishment… except for me, of course."
"And why is that?" Liam asked.
"Well… because I can actually kill everyone with ease due to my divine power… but I think you might actually be the first person alive to be able to kill me… or at least try to," Yaso said casually.
"Really now… am I even stronger than you?" Liam asked.
"Nah… I'm just messing with you… you should've seen your face, man, I wish I took a photo," Yaso said, laughing.
"By the way… you never told me what my power actually is," Liam said.
"Well… your power is the ability to recreate anything from memory, and it appears in real life right in front of you… this is called Dreamlike Disintegrate… and you're the first person ever to have this divine," Yaso explained.
"Wait… that's sooo cool… how do I use it?" Liam asked, excitement creeping into his voice.
"Slow down there, buddy… there's still so much to explain about divines, and it's very complex at first… like you can't just infinitely make something because your divine will eventually stop… and if you do in the middle of a fight, you're basically dead," Yaso said seriously.
"Wait… but that doesn't explain this feeling I still have… like I sense something around me," Liam said.
"Well… you see, that's what makes you different. Just like me… you have multiple divines. You have 2… compared to a normal person who only has 1," Yaso said.
"Your second one is basically a creature that surrounds you and follows any order you give it… and it does so without any complaint in the world. This is called Angel of Devotion, but there's a drawback… you don't have full control of it, and depending on its gender, it can affect multiple things your divine can do. You can't see it yet because you haven't actually summoned it, and we won't know whether it's a he or she until you summon it for the first time," Yaso said.
"Whoa… that's actually pretty fucking cool," Liam said, grinning.
"Yup… and those are your divine powers… unique to you and only you… there are other people who get the same divine as others… but two people can't be born with it at the same time," Yaso said.
"So basically… only I have it until I die?" Liam asked.
"No… you're different. As I said… you're unique. Only you have that combination… and once you die, no one will EVER get that power again… or at least the same two at the same time," Yaso explained.
"Wait… that's cool… I guess you could call me 'Creation of Seize,'" Liam said, smirking.
(Yaso couldn't hold back his laughter.) "Wow… where did you get such a lame name… at the discount store?"
"Hey, man… at least I thought it was cool… do you even have a name, or do we even have names?" Liam asked.
"We all get ID cards to show other Order people what scale we are on divine-wise and what age we are… basically a typical ID card… but strong people get unique nicknames… for example, mine is Fallen Hunter of Insanity," Yaso said, stretching.
"Wait… hunter??" Liam asked.
"Well… you can see I'm different compared to others… I have multiple divine powers… unlike you, who has 2… I have 5 different ones," Yaso said with a grin.
"Wait… that's so cool… what are they?" Liam asked, leaning forward.
"I'll tell you another time… but for now… let's get ready," Yaso said.
"Ready for what???" Liam asked.
"To meet your partner, of course," Yaso said.
"Partner?" Liam asked.
"Well… you're still very new to all this… even though you're powerful… you're going to need someone to watch your back," Yaso explained.
"Ohhh… I get it… like a safety net, just in case I need help," Liam said.
(Yaso started laughing uncontrollably, to the point where people outside the room started stepping in to see what was going on.)
"You don't even know the start of it… that training we did wasn't even the full package… we get calls to demolish creatures called Echos," Yaso said.
"Wait… so all that training was for nothing?" Liam asked, confused.
"Yup… basically, we just needed to see what we could work with," Yaso said.
"Ohhh… so then… I guess it was worth something then," Liam said.
"I suppose," Yaso replied.
As they were chatting, they soon ended up down a dark hallway that had a sign reading "DO NOT ENTER."
"Uhhh… are you sure this is the right way?" Liam asked.
"Of course… we're almost to your new partner, Kaisa… she's a handful, I'll say that… and be careful… if she gets too close to you, she likes to mess around with other guys' feelings," Yaso warned.
As they continued walking, they approached a door covered in leaves.
"Well… this is the place," Yaso said.
"Do we need to knock first to let her know we're here?" Liam asked.
"Of course… she's a girl, after all," Yaso said.
"Well, my bad… you just barged right into my room," Liam muttered.
"That's different… you're a guy," Yaso said with a laugh.
