"That's a lie!" I shouted.
Victor looked confused.
Daniel didn't blink.
"She contacted me first," Daniel said.
My head shook automatically.
"No."
"She wanted control of the inheritance."
My stomach twisted.
"That makes no sense."
Daniel sighed.
"Your father trusted the wrong people."
Victor stepped back slowly.
Realizing something.
"I never met your mother directly," he admitted.
"I only spoke to someone through calls."
My hands started shaking.
"Then how do you know it was her?"
Daniel answered quietly.
"Because I saw her once."
Silence filled the warehouse.
Because suddenly my entire family history felt fake.
