Chapter 4 - War God Temple!

While Anirudh was climbing the stairs of the War God Temple, the fox was following him with a grim face. She was very angry about her plain name and Anirudh's indifferent attitude.

Along with Anirudh, there were also other players who were busily climbing the stairs as if they were on an important task. Meanwhile, there were also some very new people who were surprised and shocked, as the new game felt very real and alive.

After reaching halfway up the steps, Anirudh observed that many players stood like guards along the side of the temple road with name tags above their heads. Anirudh could clearly see that they were human players. But he did not understand why they stood like statues, like guarding soldiers of a sect.

"Are you also wondering why they stood like that?"

Suddenly, a plump guy with fat cheeks appeared beside Anirudh with a cheeky smile. He was dressed like a snowman with goggles; he looked like a clever first-bench student. Instead of showing his indifferent attitude, Anirudh actually asked the fat boy why these human players stood like palace guards.

"You must be new to this game. They are all doing the task of guarding the temple. Every one of them will get one karma point if they stay on guard for the temple for 6 hours daily," the fat guy replied with a clever look.

"What? Why are they spending their good time standing like statues? Are they dumb? Why don't they use their time more productively to get better karma points?" Anirudh asked with a puzzled look.

"Bro, are you joking? Earning one karma point is not at all easy. Seems like you are a noob. Everyone inside that temple fights to get this position as guards. Once you join this temple, you will understand how hard it is to earn karma points," the fat guy replied with a serious face.

Anirudh only nodded his head, thinking about reading more news about the game, as he still didn't know many details. On the other hand, the fat guy again intervened.

"May I know your name? In the future, if I ever need noob people to help with my quest, I will call for you."

Anirudh only smiled after hearing his words. "Don't worry, you will know my name soon."

The fat guy thought Anirudh was arrogant, and he immediately walked forward with a stoic face.

"Master, why don't you take this fat guy as a slave? Seems like he knows more about this game and might be helpful for us to gather information," the fox slowly whispered as she made herself visible beside him.

"He is not some pet to make him a slave. He is also a human player. I need someone loyal and trustworthy rather than informative. Let's see. This fellow is not bad. In the future, if the opportunity comes, we will make use of him," Anirudh replied while looking at the back of the fat guy who was hurrying fast up the steps to reach the War God Temple.

Finally, after encountering a few more people, Anirudh reached the entrance gate of the War God Temple, which was like a sect in Eastern fantasy. The golden temple was visible in the distant fallow land. There were also lavish buildings on one side and training grounds on the other side. Along with humans, there were also some game characters and some animals present in the training ground.

White Angel: Congratulations to the player "King Anirudh" for visiting the War God Temple. You gained one Karma Point as a reward. [Limited / only once]

Just as Anirudh crossed the entrance gate, an old man with a long beard stopped him.

"Young adventurer, please state your business. Are you willing to join the War God Temple and fight for justice?" the old man asked with a polite smile.

White Angel: Do you wish to join the War God Temple? [Note: This is a one-time activity of choosing your academy in the game. You need faction cards to change your faction in the future, so choose wisely. Once you have chosen, it is almost impossible to change the faction or the academy of learning magic.]

Anirudh took a long time before making a decision. He did not have another choice, as the devil asked him to join the War God Temple and get the scripture for establishing the Devil Temple.

Finally, he opened his mouth and said, "Yes, Elder, I want to serve the War God."

"That's a wise decision, young man. Please accept your reward for becoming a disciple of the War God Temple."

The old man waved his hand. Instantly, a bamboo bag appeared in the hands of Anirudh. Inside it, there was a ten-meter storage space. There were already two pairs of uniforms, a book named "Beginner's Path to Become a Wizard," and three cream-colored stones at the bottom.

"Thank you, Elder, for accepting me as a disciple. Please guide me on the path to become the greatest wizard," Anirudh said in a polite tone.

"Go and practice the wizard's path in the presence of the War God. He will help you step onto the path of the War God. Don't forget to use the three spirit stones. The process will be easy with them. Your progress will be dependent on your actions. The more hard work you do, the better wizard you will become. All hail the War God!" the old man said excitedly, as he did every time for each new disciple.

Anirudh nodded his head and continued toward the War God Temple in the distance. Like him, the fat guy also received the same contents from another NPC on the side. There were several NPCs present along the path. Each player was chosen by a different NPC according to their choice.

While all these people thought they were just game characters, Anirudh knew that they were all different living beings in this magical world, with their own lives. So he gave them more respect and treated them like fellow humans.
