Emily's POV
"You did amazing, Davon."
A slow, confident smile spread across Davon's face as he leaned in close, his shadow blocking out the light. "Can I get a kiss at least?"
I pressed a single finger against his chest, stopping him dead in his tracks. "Not quite yet. Your job isn't halfway done."
"Oh?" He raised an eyebrow, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Alina still hasn't fallen for you yet," I said, dropping my hand and crossing my arms. "And I need that to happen soon."
Davon shrugged, a smug air of certainty settling over his shoulders. "You don't need to worry about that. It'll happen."
I gave him a sharp nod. "Good."
He paused, his gaze tracking the line of my neck before he asked the one question that had clearly been burning a hole in his mind. "Did you really sleep with Lucian?"
