Alina's POV
"Thank you, Davon. I will get going now."
"Are you sure you are alright, Alina?"
I forced my lips into a tight, hollow smile. "Of course."
Reaching out, I brushed a stray hair from Leo's forehead before taking my travel bag from Davon's grip. Before I could pull away, his fingers wrapped firmly around my wrist. The pressure wasn't aggressive, but it held me in place.
"Don't hesitate to call me if you need anything," he said, his gaze locking onto mine.
"I will."
He gave a slow nod, finally releasing his grip. I turned and walked into the house, the heavy oak doors shutting out the crisp air. The moment I stepped into the foyer, the housekeepers crowded around, their faces lighting up at the sight of the little boy. After giving me a warm greeting, they gently took Leo from my arms to look after him.
