Chapter 2 - ch-2,strength in silence

Zero is not merely emptiness; it is both an ending and a beginning. It represents stillness, yet within that stillness lies infinite possibility. To understand it, one must experience both loss and growth, defeat and victory. Many moments that appear meaningless at first eventually reveal their true purpose.

People rarely grasp this truth immediately. Only with time does life begin to explain its deeper meanings.

"I feel something strange inside myself," he said quietly.

At that moment, the boy heard a knock at the door. Startled, he quickly got up from his bed. His mind was still tangled in thoughts about tomorrow. Questions echoed within him — what would happen next, what choices lay ahead, and whether he was truly prepared for what was coming. His curiosity and restlessness grew stronger with every passing second.

Without wasting another moment, he rushed toward the door and opened it with swift urgency. Outside stood his friend.

"Come on, brother! Let's go play cricket," his friend said enthusiastically.

Mara responded in a quieter tone, "I'm not really in the mood to play right now… Can you come later? I'm thinking about tomorrow."

Pasito looked surprised. "Tomorrow? What is so special about tomorrow, brother?"

Mara's voice suddenly became firm. "Don't you know? Tomorrow, you will receive your weapons."

Pasito chuckled lightly. "But you wanted the elements, didn't you? The elements whose energy grant powers like fire, air, water, and stone."

Mara took a deep breath before replying, "I know… but I was talking about weapons for you. Do you also want the elements?"

For a brief moment, silence filled the room.

"Just go now… let me think," Mara said calmly.

Hearing this, Pasito quietly turned around and walked away.

Arriving at the ground floor beneath the house, Padiyo spoke in an irritated tone,

"Pasito shows so much attitude…"

He let out a faint laugh, though the bitterness behind it was unmistakable.

"Besides… his father was murdered… and his mother ran away with someone else, leaving him behind."

For a brief moment, his voice softened.

"I don't even know… who his father really was…"

A boy walked up to Pasito and said,

"Mara didn't come? I think he got scared."

Pasito gave a faint smile.

"Mara… scared? No. He's probably still thinking about tomorrow. Right, Vaden?"

Vaden nodded and laughed.

"He takes so much time, man… he overthinks everything."

Pasito replied calmly,

"Yeah… you're right."

With a mischievous grin, Vaden added,

"Yeah, yeah… but he still thinks less than your nest-like hair."

Pasito's eyes widened.

"What did you just say?!"

In the very next moment…

The two of them lunged at each other.

Mara stood by his window upstairs, listening to everything.

His expression turned serious.

In a low but firm voice, he said,

"Everyone thinks I'm insignificant…"

He slowly clenched his fists.

"But what they don't know…"

A different spark appeared in his eyes.

"…is that I don't just sit at home and think."

A faint, mysterious smile formed on his face.

"I've been learning something as well."
