Scene 1
Volk POV
"You're pretty durable. I see why Alexisos respects you." Pushing myself out of the building again as I checked the swords in my hands.
"You're very arrogant. But what's new about warriors?" Raising my swords as I focused on responding to his movements instead of attacking.
Ignoring his face as I focused on his waist and feet. As my focus sharpened with my change in mindset.
"A warrior… yes, I'm still a warrior." Watching his hand reach for the sword bearing Ares's motif of a lone sword on the sheath.
Catching only a slight movement of his waist as I stepped back. As his waist appeared in front of me. Raising my swords as I followed his body. Barely catching the sword on my crossguard as I felt the weight of Divinity pressing me into the ground.
Shifting my left hand as I accepted that brute-force defense would only harm me more. As I used the top sword to shift down to the left as I carried it forward, free of the clash. Only to see his free left hand catch mine.
Before looking him in the eyes and spitting on him. As his eyes closed for half a second while I risked it all on this strike. Carrying my right hand forward as the sword pressed against his neck before I felt a foot in my stomach again.
Sending me rolling as I landed against a wooden wall dense enough to stop my path. Grinning to myself as my eyes focused on the right sword where a faint shine of gold clung to the sword.
"It seems I'm still treating you like a hare to hunt, and not a wolf. It will cost me. If it was any other Demi-God faction, you would've taken one of Apollo's or Dionysus's demigods' heads." Looking up to him as he allowed me to stand once more without pressing the attack.
"My teacher calls it defying fate. So, do you want to see if it'll hold true?" Feeling excited at the prospect of really taking the head of a Demi-God. A feat I could only dream of. Yet the one speck of mixed golden and red blood revealed everything I needed to press forward.
'If it bleeds, then it can die.' Laughing to myself as I raised my swords again, this time defocusing myself as I watched his entire body now that I've proven I can react. Focusing only on his limbs and torso.
The wings on his back were largely useless as he kept them out for no reason. Yet the biggest target possible. Catching the movement of his leg as I stepped half a foot forward. While spinning to the right of his obvious downward strike to overpower me again.
Demolishing the ground I was standing on as I cut down in response, tearing halfway through his left wing. Earning a bloody screech before my face met the back of his fist and getting shot through a wall. As it felt like my head would explode at any second from the ringing. His screams only intensifying it further.
"I'm going to fuc—"
"Nope. You're coming with me since you want to fight mortals as a Demi-God. I'll bully you myself." Looking up where the sight of the Demi-God rushing was stopped by a man holding the General up by the throat.
"You can escape too. Lord Ten will be proud of your display." Watching him raise his free hand in my direction before I'm sent flying through the wall and out into the opposite street.
Scene 2
"You would seem the city is cleaned already. Since they came to our city, we'll defend what's ours. Juris did an excellent play by accepting Hebe in private." Nodding my head as I sat atop Zeus's statue as I felt my uncle's eyes being directed to me.
Offering him a wave as a streak of lightning cut through the night sky. Yet not capable of striking me since I never made a move. Only realizing too late that I walked his son's forces into a death trap. As Apollo's gaze had already left long before Silv entered the city.
Even he could see the amount of karma accumulating was reaching a dangerous level for this nonsense. As I've forced everyone to realize I can play this game at every level. My forces armed in silver armor and swords. Resources my father can extract at will from the Earth.
While the basic forging abilities our mortals have developed over the millions of years on the Minor Worlds have given us an edge I can show off without worry. Until Hephaestus is born, Olympus will be hard-pressed to compete with Juris's timeline-diving habits.
"Xer just finished up as well. He decided to let that Demi-God go. No doubt he wants your student to defeat him later. Should I place him with Xer and Coan?" Eli questioned me as she watched the fires getting put out. As I shook my head no at the idea.
"No, he'll develop his own force in the north. Migrate this city and the rest of the outcasts who survived these dumb massacres. Request Styx to handle it so we can keep these bodies." Glancing to the Demi-God bodies that have all been killed in a clean manner by Eli, to preserve test subjects for creating True Vessels.
Scene 3
Rilk POV
Rushing north as I continued to hear branches breaking behind me. Along with torches being carried, forcing me to stay focused ahead of me.
Each step I take only drives my desire to go back for Volk, but my pathetic excuse for strength has only hindered me.
Never taking the training seriously as I preferred reading the stories Woden wrote. Stories of Gods and Beasts that reach the Sun, or the daughter of the villain who unjustly sentenced her to the Underworld. Dozens of stories, and each forcing my mind to accept new things and ideas.
"Just be like Hermes." Focusing myself on the God of paths as I prayed for any type of escape being offered. As it fell on deaf ears as I came across the mountain after sprinting through the night.
"There has to be a passage!" Looking around in a hurry as I spotted several logs positioned by a ravine, as across from it a wall covered in vines. No doubt an obvious secret pathway like Woden's stories.
Yet knowing the path and being able to push the logs are two different concepts. As my trained but still childlike body took all my effort to even push it near the ravine.
"Come on, I see a pair of tracks this way." Failing to remember the men wouldn't need torches during daylight as I'm stuck in an impossible situation.
Watching with horror as the men streamed out of the forest onto the cliff. As my heart pounded with each step near me, as I knew the actions at Hebe would mean the death of me if caught. Glancing back and forward between the men and the cliff as both options presented death.
"Rilk!!!" Hearing the sound of Alexisos as my heart dropped even further, as the sound of a stampede felt like my death sentence. As the giant I hoped to see with us is riding a giant black-furred wolf, as his sword was covered in blood.
Bringing it down on every warrior he passed like the Demon Volk described his brother-in-arms as. While the wolf is ripping warriors into pieces with passes of its claws.
"Anyone else!" Feeling my heart finally relax as I collapsed to the ground, breathing roughly. Happy he came to the rescue as my next choice was to jump into the ravine over slavery.
"Come on, we need to get Volk as well so we can escape. Woden doesn't want us here for this war." Grabbing my shoulder as he leaned over before lifting me without effort like usual, as he placed me in front of him.
Before the wolf began to blitz faster than I could see through the forest.
