Scene 1
Alexisos POV
"Aren't you a long way from home, boy?" Pausing my steps as the voice grabbed my attention. Standing in front of Zeus's temple as we questioned every human in the city.
"Who?"
"Right behind you."
Spinning around as my neck felt like it had a sword to it. As I spotted a man I've only seen a couple of times with Volk.
"Wod—" Stopping myself from finishing the word before grabbing the man's arm and walking away from the Temple.
"You need to leave now. Everyone is searching for you." Whispering to the man as I tried to gain some distance.
"I know. The better question is why you are separated from Volk." Pulling his arm free with his small frame as I'm left puzzled by the ease with which he did it.
"Zeus sent orders to every city warrior and kingdom warrior to report to the nearest Demi-God generals. I rejoined at the City of Hermes a year ago. Volk stayed in the mountains living with Rilk after we settled.
I only learned the goal of this mission being you once we got to this city. I messed up by telling them about Volk when I was excited about being picked. Can you please go and warn him?" Watching the man lift his waterskin. The very same one the children of Bacchus City have come to call a wineskin if it's in his hands.
"A costly mistake. But my student is already in this city. So you're late, and judging by his movements, he's realized what you guys have planned for this place." Clenching my fist as the wounds from earlier broke open again as I felt the blood leaking.
"What did you think Apollo's mortals were moving on Apollo's command when they tormented Bacchus City mortals?" Remembering General Silv's words about me being able to pillage with his men.
"Yes. I was still naive to think war is the way to live a life." Watching him laugh at me before passing his wineskin to me.
"You have thousands of years ahead of you, my boy. Now the choice comes down to if you'll aid your friend or aid these men." Watching him wave his hand as I glanced around after drinking the wine. The burn being something I've never felt before. Even General Silv's divine wine didn't compare. His voice ringing through next and sobering me up instantly.
"Yes, Alexisos, you have thousands of years ahead of you. After all, you've led us to our target. Whose side do you stand on? You wish to warn Volk to avoid us, and that calls into question your loyalty, but we can verify that later.
Now you? Woden, the supposed teacher of Great Warriors from the Three Brothers Kingdom. Lord Zeus has sent many Fairy Aids to summon you to his Mortal Empire, and you've ignored each summon.
This time we aren't asking. You will submit yourself before the God-King Zeus!" Glancing around as I found dozens of men rushing to block off each path.
"I've already told Zeus himself. I'm not interested in his offers. Oh, there goes the wings I've heard about!" Woden's teasing voice rang through as several Demi-Gods stood on the wooden rooftops with their wings out behind Lord Silv.
"So, Alexisos, will you escape yet again with your brother in arms, or will you forsake that oath, move forward, and start anew here with a sword in hand against me?" Focusing on Woden as his words struck my heart, which was already regretting uttering Volk's name to Silv.
Taking a deep breath as the sound of fighting across the city began. As I pulled my sword out and stood in front of Woden.
"A good choice, boy. Sadly, your war isn't here. This is my battleground alongside my Hounds." Looking back questionably as his hand landed on my shoulder. Only to be lifted up by his small body and placed on top of something.
Glancing down as my heart fell into my stomach as the sight of a black-furred wolf bigger than a horse was under my legs.
"Tí, go find his brothers and take them to my territory." Patting the wolf's butt as it roared before jumping above Silv. Who directed some men to stop us as the wolf's paws swatted them out of the air without stopping, as my soul left my body.
As my eyes caught the sight of thousands of men in black and silver metal clothing surging out of Zeus's temple, striking the warriors I came with. With each leap of the wolf revealing more and more men coming out from hiding spots.
Scene 2
"Stop him!" Parrying a sword strike as my training spear struck the neck of the warrior hard enough to hear a crack. Before using the spear to push him out of the way as I continued through the city.
Getting struck by an arrow in the back as it barely stopped short of piercing me through, my 1st Order body being harder to pierce by 2nd Order Warriors. Deciding it's best to take the sword with me as I'm competent enough to use a spear with one hand for thrusts as well as swings.
Only relying on accuracy to strike vitals. While my left hand holds the sword, maintaining a close-combat weapon that's on the same level as my opponents. Who are all armed with weapons from Zeus's sons. The spear only capable of parrying a couple more strikes before it's turned into a half pole.
"Help!!" Ignoring the voices around me as I continued forward. Barely keeping the 2nd and 1st Order squad at bay as I aim to lead them in the opposite direction of where I threw Rilk over the wall.
Even if I can jump or climb over the wall, the surrounding warriors will no doubt sense a 1st Order Warrior breaking out of the city. The level when you can no longer be ignored by other mortals and even the Divine spread gifts to place us inside their selected chosen warriors.
Like my dream of being one of Lord Dionysus's chaos bringers, only to wake up from that dream when my home burned down. Much like this city is facing. Clenching my fist tighter around my weapons before my feet turned and ran in the direction of the voices.
'Defend your sister but not the woman who leads you to war.'
Accepting that this could be my downfall. Yet my heart couldn't accept leaving normal people to die once again.
"He's coming back!" Jumping at the warriors before they could react as I launched the crumbling spear at my opponents. Striking the lead 1st Order Warrior through the head as he's sent rolling. While my sword came barging down on his squad in the moment of surprise.
Carrying it forward as one horizontal slash took the necks of two soldiers while my right fist buried itself into the face of another. Shifting my hold on the sword as it ran along my forearm before raising up and parrying an attack aimed at taking my sword arm.
Before stretching my arm as the blade became an extension of my arm. As a head rolled for the top-grade sneak attack. Only failing when he met me. Catching his sword before it fell as I carved a path of blood through the alleyway. Ignoring the small cuts and bruises from fighting over two dozen warriors back to back.
As I broke out of the alleyways into the city where I could see women already being stripped, as the bodies around the city only further angered me. Before my swords began to dance through the flames and night. My fury no longer capable of being contained as I remembered my bloody methods. Not pausing once until the street was clear. As the women and children began to run in the direction I came from.
"Head north! It's your hope!" Yelling to the people who didn't stop as they ran like the demons were on their backs. Like Zeus's followers have proven they are.
Jumping back as a spear of light struck my last spot. As my eyes landed on the worst possible opponent I could meet. Wings lining his back as he radiated divine energy I haven't touched yet.
"I see why General Silv wants you in his squad. Among mortals, it'll be hard to find anyone capable of pressuring you besides Alexisos. But I still think he'd need a squad of warriors to aid him in taking you down while almost dying himself." Calming myself as I watched him manifest another spear of light.
"If you come down here, then we can test it out if you'll get the same results as Alexisos." Earning a harsh glare as he launched his spear at me. Using my instincts to catch the spear along my blade. As it split behind me before I was kicked in the gut.
The Demi-God appearing in front of me as I'm sent into a house. Feeling my anger getting hotter as I stormed out of the ruined house as my swords came down on my opponent, only to be blocked as I'm sent flying by a punch.
Scene 3
Silv POV
"Go and secure Alexisos and that wolf. Lord Zeus will be happy to be gifted such a beast." Ordering my men to give chase to that muscle-brained brute. As I studied the target of my thousand-year hunt. His white skin a stark contrast to the rumored black-skinned and red-masked demon.
Even the black braided hair is a different color as he continued to watch us as if we were putting on a show. Yet his lack of strength is causing me to rethink if he's the target.
"I've actually wanted to meet you, Silv. You're quite the brat, if I had to say so myself. Three generations of Mortal executioners. Yet none of you realized why Zeus wouldn't bless you with a Minor Office among his Domains." Staring at him as if he's walking a thin line as he spoke of a family secret even the Gods aren't aware of besides Lord Zeus.
"What finally lost the pride you've been holding as one of the bloodlines of humans Zeus elevates out of slavery? Now that someone knows the truth behind that bloodline. How many cities have you, your father, and your grandfather butchered in the name of blasphemy?" Manifesting a bolt of lightning in my hand.
"Say another word and I'll be the reason you learn to respect the Gods and your betters."
"Are you sure about that? Have you even spread that small amount of Divine Sense to see what's going on under your command?" Watching his grin grow as I tried to fight the instinct to spread my senses. Only to follow through as the first thing that assaulted my senses was the deaths of the Demi-Gods along the streets.
Not able to get far from our location as I turned to look, only to find one of the extinct races my grandfather aided in killing off in Zeus's Empire. A blonde-haired elf watching me as she wore a smile that forced me to spread my wings and fly back.
"Where are you going, Mr. Better than the Prince of Underworld?" Hearing a voice behind me that sounded like a young man. As I glanced back to see a young man with a black spear.
"Gods?" Feeling the strength of the man sitting just above me at the Low Minor God. Only a rank difference, yet the gap I can feel from just locking eyes with him felt like my soul was decaying as I forced my eyes away.
"See, when you offer enough bait on any board, the animals come out to hunt. This time we got the right target." Hearing Woden's voice as I glanced to my right where he's standing in the air as if it's the smallest trick. One that I know requires reaching the Minor God rank to defy the laws of the world.
His skin now dark brown as a black sun sat in the middle of his forehead. His black hair now white.
"Xer, go and make sure my student doesn't die. It seems Tí went after Rilk first instead of Volk." Glancing back to the man who nodded his head and began to walk through the air towards the opposite direction of the city. As my senses caught rough images of my warriors being slaughtered throughout the city.
"My lord, I ca—" Watching Woden raise a finger as a golden and black flame danced on his finger before he blew on it. As my mind was slammed by the feeling of burning alive as I fell from the air into the blood that should've cooled me. Yet the second my face realized it was staring at a headless Demi-God, the burning feeling only increased.
