Chapter 169 - 167

Genichi sat on the living room sofa, swirling the glass of red wine in his hand while his gaze drifted toward the night outside the window.

Memories of the female-oriented romance Genichi surfaced in his mind: those years of lowly endurance and self-abasement.

To turn his life around, to break free from that cold family, the female-oriented romance Genichi had chosen what seemed to him the only viable path: currying favor with Liu Ruyan and borrowing her power.

Liu Ruyan.

A female CEO with a net worth in the tens of billions, a woman who could summon wind and rain in the business world.

If he could gain her help, perhaps he could escape that biased family. He might even be able to destroy it.

And so, the female-oriented romance Genichi began his career as a bootlicker.

Every morning at six, he got up to make Liu Ruyan breakfast.

He learned to cook. He learned to bake. He learned every dish she might possibly like.

Eggs had to be medium-well. Coffee needed milk but no sugar. Bread had to be toasted until the surface was slightly charred. He remembered those details for three full years.

After that came the day's cleaning.

A three-hundred-square-meter villa, four hundred days and nights.

Mopping floors, wiping windows, tidying rooms. He did not miss a single corner.

Liu Ruyan did not like outsiders in her home, so she hired no servants.

The female-oriented romance Genichi became her free housekeeper.

At night, when Liu Ruyan came home, he had to have dinner ready.

If she worked overtime, he had to wait.

He waited until late at night, until after midnight, until the food went cold and was reheated, then cooled again and was reheated again.

When she finally came back, she might not even look at him before going straight upstairs to rest.

He also had to remember her period, prepare brown sugar water and heating pads, and keep track of her preferences: the movies she liked, the music she liked, the books she liked.

He remembered every one of her habits.

Four hundred and thirty-four details.

He thought that as long as he was good enough, considerate enough, humble enough, he would move her one day.

He thought that as long as she was willing to help him, even if it was only a casual word from her, she could change his fate.

He thought...

Unfortunately, he was wrong.

Terribly wrong.

Liu Ruyan had never taken him seriously.

In front of him, she was the queen standing high above, while he was merely a dog she kept.

When she was happy, she would pat him.

When she was unhappy, she would kick him twice.

No matter how that dog wagged its tail, no matter how desperately it tried to please her, the queen would never treat it as an equal.

What made it even more ironic was that Liu Ruyan had another person in her heart: Ji Boxiao.

That man was the one she truly loved.

The female-oriented romance Genichi knew this.

He had personally seen the look in Liu Ruyan's eyes when she gazed at Ji Boxiao's photo. That tenderness, that longing, was something he had never received from her.

He had personally heard Liu Ruyan's voice when she spoke to Ji Boxiao over the phone. That softness, that coquettish affection, was something he would never hear.

He knew he was only a substitute.

A replacement used to fill the emptiness when Ji Boxiao was not around.

But he still endured it.

Because he had no choice.

He thought that as long as he was humble enough, obedient enough, he could at least exchange it for a chance.

Perhaps one day, when Liu Ruyan was in a good mood, she would be moved.

However, reality slapped him hard across the face.

That day, Liu Ruyan smiled at him for once.

That smile was so gentle that he dazedly thought, for a brief moment, that his persistence had finally been rewarded.

"Genichi, I need you to do me a favor," she said.

He was overwhelmed by the favor.

"Tell me. I'll do anything."

Liu Ruyan's smile became even gentler.

"Boxiao has a problem with his body and needs a kidney transplant. You have Type O blood, and you're a successful match with him. So..."

She did not finish, but her meaning was already clear.

The female-oriented romance Genichi froze.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, only to find that no words would come out.

Liu Ruyan looked at him. Her gaze was still gentle, but it carried a trace of unquestionable command.

"Don't worry. I won't treat you unfairly. After the surgery, I'll give you a sum of money, enough for you to live well. And haven't you always wanted me to help you? As long as you agree, I can help you deal with that biased family of yours."

She reached out and gently held his hand.

"Genichi, I know you've been good to me. All these years, I've seen everything you've done for me. So help me, all right?"

The female-oriented romance Genichi looked at her, and complicated feelings surged in his heart.

He wanted to refuse.

That was his kidney.

Why should he give it to that man?

But could he refuse?

Liu Ruyan said it was a "request," but her eyes clearly said: you must agree.

Besides, there were dozens of black-suited bodyguards standing behind her. Would refusing even matter?

"All right."

He agreed.

Not because he loved Liu Ruyan.

But because he thought it was a trade.

One kidney in exchange for a chance to turn his life around.

He thought he had finally found a way out.

Yet once again, he was wrong.

When he was pushed onto the operating table, he saw the expressions on those people's faces.

They were not looking at a "partner."

They were looking at prey.

He wanted to struggle. He wanted to resist. But the anesthetic had already taken effect, and his consciousness began to blur.

Before he lost consciousness completely, he heard Liu Ruyan's voice.

"Take both. One for each side."

Both.

Take both kidneys.

She had never intended to take only one.

And the so-called "helping him turn his life around," the so-called "dealing with that family," had been nothing more than bait to lure him in.

From beginning to end, she had only treated him as a walking organ bank.

From beginning to end, she had been scheming against him.

From beginning to end, he had been used.

The female-oriented romance Genichi's consciousness sank completely into darkness.

In the final moment before his death, there was only one thought in his heart.

I really am a fucking idiot.

Genichi set down the wineglass and took a deep breath.

He had already watched those memories many times.

But every time he recalled them, the killing intent in his heart grew stronger.

That female-oriented romance Genichi had disguised himself as a bootlicker and humbled himself before Liu Ruyan in order to turn his life around, believing that he could exchange it for an opportunity.

And what happened?

He lost everything.

He died without even understanding why.

Genichi stood up and walked to the window, gazing at the night in the distance.

"Liu Ruyan."

He spoke in a low voice.

"Ji Boxiao."

Those two names burned in his heart.

Neither of them would escape.

Just then, the sound of a car engine came from downstairs.

The corner of Genichi's mouth lifted into a cold smile.

They were back.

He turned and walked to the staircase, looking down at the front door from above.

Soon, the door opened, and two figures walked inside.

Liu Ruyan, the cold and noble beauty CEO in a black professional suit.

Ji Boxiao, the handsome, elegant prince in a casual suit.

The two walked in while chatting and laughing, completely unaware of Genichi standing on the staircase.

"Boxiao, how is your recovery?" Liu Ruyan asked gently.

"Much better."

Ji Boxiao smiled as he answered, "Thanks to you, Ruyan. If not for you, I might have..."

He did not finish, but Liu Ruyan already understood.

She smiled faintly, her eyes filled with tenderness.

Just then, Ji Boxiao raised his head and saw the figure on the stairs.

His smile instantly froze.

Liu Ruyan followed his gaze and froze as well.

Genichi looked down at them from above, a faint smile hanging at the corner of his mouth.

"Welcome home."

He spoke softly. "I've been waiting for you for a long time."

Liu Ruyan's pupils shrank violently.

"You... how did you..."

Her words stopped halfway because she saw the bloodstained clothes on Genichi's body.

The blood had already turned dark red, but under the lights, it was still shocking to look at.

"You... you killed someone?"

Liu Ruyan's voice trembled slightly.

Genichi smiled.

"Just a few people."

He walked down the stairs, approaching them step by step. "Don't worry. Your turn will come soon."

Liu Ruyan's face turned deathly pale.

She instinctively stepped in front of Ji Boxiao and said with a trembling voice, "What... what are you trying to do? This is my house. There are security guards outside. If you dare touch me, they won't let you go!"

Genichi smiled.

That smile was cold and cruel.

"Security guards?"

He spoke softly. "Do you think ordinary people like that can stop me?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the shadows beneath his feet began to writhe.

Several pitch-black figures emerged from the darkness and appeared silently around them.

Liu Ruyan and Ji Boxiao's faces instantly turned pale.

Those shadows...

What were those things?

Genichi looked at their terrified expressions, and a wave of satisfaction rose in his heart.

"Liu Ruyan."

He spoke softly. "You owe him. It's time to pay it back."

After controlling both Liu Ruyan and Ji Boxiao, Genichi's gaze fell on Ji Boxiao.

The man was currently pinned to the ground by two black shadows, his face pressed against the cold tile floor, his body trembling faintly with fear.

His suit had been wrinkled into a mess, his hair was disheveled, and he no longer looked anything like the handsome, elegant man from earlier.

Genichi crouched down and looked down at him from above.

"You recovered pretty fast."

His voice was light, but it carried a bone-chilling cold.

"I remember these kidneys were taken not long ago, right? You already had them installed? You didn't even need to stay in the hospital for observation?"

When Liu Ruyan heard that, she froze.

She had been restrained by another black shadow and was kneeling not far away.

Hearing Genichi's words, her gaze subconsciously shifted toward Ji Boxiao.

Before this, she had not thought too deeply about it. She had only been happy over Ji Boxiao's "recovery."

But now that Genichi had said it, she suddenly realized something.

If Ji Boxiao had really undergone transplant surgery, where were the wounds?

Where was the postoperative recovery period?

Genichi had the shadows lift Ji Boxiao's clothes.

Ji Boxiao's waist was exposed.

Smooth. Flat. Not the slightest scar.

There was no trace of transplant surgery at all.

Genichi looked at that smooth skin and could not help chuckling.

The sound was quiet, but full of mockery.

Liu Ruyan stared at Ji Boxiao in disbelief, her eyes filled with shock and confusion.

"Boxiao... you lied to me?"

Her voice trembled, carrying a trace of disbelief.

Ji Boxiao did not respond to her question at all.

At this moment, all his attention was focused on Genichi.

That man was slowly walking closer, holding a scalpel in his hand.

The blade gleamed coldly beneath the lights, and dark red blood still stained its edge.

Ji Boxiao's pupils shrank violently, and his body began to struggle fiercely, but the shadows were terrifyingly strong. He could not break free at all.

"No... don't come closer..."

His voice trembled so badly he could barely form a sentence. His face was as pale as paper.

Genichi ignored his struggle. He merely crouched down slowly and lightly patted Ji Boxiao's face with the knife in his hand.

"You dug out two of my kidneys, so each of you can repay me with two."

Hearing those words, Ji Boxiao and Liu Ruyan finally understood.

Two.

Genichi had lost two kidneys.

And now, he wanted two kidneys from each of them in repayment.

Liu Ruyan's body shook violently. Terror flashed through her eyes, but very quickly, she forced herself to calm down.

She looked at Genichi, forcing a pleading expression onto her face.

"Genichi, I was deceived!"

Her voice was tearful, and her eyes were already filled with tears.

"I really didn't know Boxiao was lying to me! I thought he truly needed a transplant. Forgive me this once, all right? I promise I'll treat you well from now on. Really!"

Genichi looked at her and laughed.

It was not a happy laugh.

It was the kind of laugh that came when a person was too speechless to do anything else.

Sure enough, when people were truly speechless, they laughed.

How could she even say something like that?

She did not know?

She was deceived?

She had personally sent the female-oriented romance Genichi to the operating table.

The signed documents, the arranged procedures, the bribed doctors. Which part had she not handled herself?

And now she wanted to say she did not know?

Genichi ignored her.

He turned and walked toward Ji Boxiao.

Seeing him approach, Ji Boxiao's body trembled violently.

His lips shook as he tried to say something, but all that came out were meaningless sounds.

"No... no... please... please..."

Genichi did not give him the chance to speak.

The scalpel in his hand swept lightly, cutting open the skin at Ji Boxiao's side.

"Ahhh!"

Ji Boxiao let out a shrill scream.

The sound echoed through the empty villa, piercing and desperate.

The sharp blade cut through skin and muscle. Blood immediately surged out, staining the floor red.

Ji Boxiao's body convulsed violently, but his limbs were pinned firmly by the shadows. He could not move at all.

All he could do was watch the knife move inside his own body and feel that bone-deep agony.

"Please... let me go... I'll do anything..."

His voice had grown so hoarse it was almost inaudible. Tears and snot mixed together, leaving him utterly wretched.

Genichi did not stop.

With a light flick of the blade, he drew out a kidney slick with blood and dropped it onto the floor beside Ji Boxiao's face with a dull sound.

"Ahhh!"

Ji Boxiao screamed again, the sound so sharp it nearly pierced the eardrums.

Genichi glanced at the kidney, then, right in front of Ji Boxiao, stepped on it.

Squelch.

The kidney was crushed under his foot, blood and pieces of flesh splattering across the floor.

Ji Boxiao's eyes widened, filled with terror and despair.

That was his kidney.

And it had been crushed just like that.

"No... no..."

He murmured, unable to form a complete sentence.

Genichi ignored his pleading.

He waved his hand, and a black shadow stepped forward, picked up a handful of the minced flesh from the floor, and forced it into Ji Boxiao's mouth.

Ji Boxiao struggled violently and tried to spit it out, but the shadows clamped his jaw shut and forced him to swallow.

The taste of blood spread through his mouth. The sensation was more disgusting than a corpse.

After finishing all of that, Genichi raised his hand and began to chant.

"Heal."

A soft light enveloped the wound at Ji Boxiao's waist. The hideous wound began to close at a visible speed. The bleeding stopped, and new skin grew over the injury.

In less than a minute, the wound completely disappeared, leaving only smooth skin behind.

Ji Boxiao lowered his head and stared at his smooth waist, his eyes filled with blank confusion.

The wound was gone?

But what about his kidney?

His kidney was already gone. It had been crushed, and he had been forced to swallow it.

Genichi looked at him, a faint smile hanging at the corner of his mouth.

"Don't worry. You won't die. Until I allow you to die, you'll stay alive."

He paused, then added.

"Alive and well."

Ji Boxiao's body trembled violently.

At that moment, he finally understood.

Genichi would not let him die easily.

He wanted him alive.

Alive to endure even more pain.

Genichi turned and looked at Liu Ruyan.

By now, Liu Ruyan was completely terrified out of her mind.

She knelt on the floor, trembling like a sieve. Warm liquid flowed out beneath her and spread across the ground.

She had wet herself in fear.

Genichi looked at her, a smile still on his face, Ji Boxiao's blood staining his skin.

In Liu Ruyan's eyes, that smile was more terrifying than any devil.

"No... don't come closer..."

Her voice shook so badly she could barely form a sentence, and her eyes were filled with fear.

"You... didn't you love me?"

She tried to use the last lifeline she had to protect herself.

During those years, hadn't that humble bootlicker always loved her?

Couldn't that love become her shield?

When Genichi heard that, he could not help laughing.

The sound was soft, but full of mockery.

"Love?"

He crouched down and reached out to grab Liu Ruyan by the throat.

His hand tightened, and Liu Ruyan's breathing immediately became difficult. Her face flushed crimson, and her hands weakly slapped at Genichi's arm, but she could not break free at all.

"Don't move."

Genichi's voice was soft, but it carried unquestionable authority.

"Relax. I'll only take one kidney from you for now. You'll still live. Before I allow you to die, you won't die."

With his other hand, he lifted the scalpel and waved it in front of Liu Ruyan's eyes.

"Of course, if you move around, my hand might slip. Then it may not just be one kidney."

He leaned close to Liu Ruyan's ear and whispered.

"So be good. Don't move."

Tears poured from Liu Ruyan's eyes.

She nodded desperately, trying to show she would be obedient, but with her throat gripped, she could only make meaningless whimpers.

Genichi released his hand and threw her to the floor.

Liu Ruyan lay there, gasping for breath. Tears and snot mixed together, leaving her utterly wretched.

But Genichi gave her no time to recover.

He pulled open her clothes, exposing her slender waist.

Then the scalpel fell.

"Ahhh!"

Liu Ruyan let out a shrill scream.

The sound was sharp and desperate, echoing through the villa.

Genichi ignored her screams.

He calmly cut open the skin, sliced through the muscle, and removed a kidney slick with blood.

The entire process used no anesthetic and no mercy.

Liu Ruyan's body convulsed violently. Her screams grew more and more piercing until they finally turned into weak whimpers.

Genichi placed the kidney on the floor.

Liu Ruyan stared at the kidney that belonged to her, her eyes filled with terror and despair.

That was her kidney.

And it had been dug out just like that.

"Don't worry. You won't die."

Genichi spoke softly. "At least, not now."

He stood and looked at the two wretched figures on the ground.

Ji Boxiao lay collapsed on the floor, his eyes hollow, still mumbling something under his breath.

Liu Ruyan lay prone on the floor, her body trembling as tears flowed silently down her face.

Genichi looked at them, and satisfaction rose in his heart.

Still not enough.

This was only the beginning.
