Chapter 15

Primal Rage

Luffy moved off on his own, walking calmly through the village, while the rest of the crew remained with Nojiko to listen to the story none of them were truly prepared to hear.

Nojiko began to speak, her voice steady, yet carrying within it the pain of long years.

Nami's story…

A childhood that began with orphanhood, then a kind-hearted woman who found her, embraced her, and adopted her alongside Nojiko, raising them as a true mother would.

A woman who gave them warmth, safety, and a sincere smile.

Then…

Arlong set foot on the island.

He occupied it.

Ruled it by force.

Killed that wonderful mother before the eyes of her two daughters with terrifying coldness…

He laughed.

He smiled.

After that, Nami had no choice.

She joined him—not out of greed or desire, but to protect the village.

He promised her that one day she could "buy" their freedom.

And from that day on…

Nami gathered money.

She stole, deceived, drew maps for Arlong.

She grew up carrying a burden too heavy for a young girl's heart.

Long years…

And the money was still not enough.

Nojiko finished her story and fell silent.

She bid the crew farewell quietly and returned to her house.

But as she approached, she froze in place.

Marine soldiers were surrounding the small home.

She hurried forward to see what was happening. Standing before her was a Marine captain with a face resembling a rat, narrow eyes, and a repulsive, malicious smile.

He said, savoring the scene,

"We're here to confiscate all the money stolen from pirates.

This is pirate money… and it must be returned to the Marines."

Nami rushed out, trying to stop them. She screamed, begged, pleaded…

But it was useless.

Nojiko tried to restrain her sister, and in that moment—

A gunshot rang out.

A bullet pierced Nojiko's shoulder.

A short cry—then she fell.

Nami rushed to save her, her heart nearly bursting.

Fortunately, the wound was not fatal.

The Marine soldiers took all the money…

Then left, as if they had not stolen an entire life.

The villagers gathered in front of Nami and Nojiko's house.

The village doctor began treating Nojiko.

Silence fell…

Then the village elder, the man with the pinwheel hat, spoke in a hoarse yet resolute voice:

"There is no point in a life where we are driven to humiliation and death.

We will fight…

Either we win, or we die trying."

All the villagers rushed toward Arlong Park.

Nami tried to stop them. She screamed, cried, begged…

But no one stopped.

She fell to the ground.

And broke down in tears.

Then…

She saw a knife lying nearby.

She grabbed it.

Without hesitation…

She began stabbing her shoulder—where the tattoo was…

The tattoo of the Arlong Pirates.

One stab…

Another…

Pain, hatred, despair, revenge…

Filled her heart completely.

After several stabs, her heart suddenly calmed.

The expressions of life disappeared from her face.

Then…

She smiled.

The smile of someone who had lost her mind.

She raised the knife…

And stabbed her chest.

Nami collapsed to the ground.

Blood poured from her mouth, her shoulder, and her chest in heavy streams.

She had committed suicide.

That girl could no longer endure it.

And in that moment…

The reel of her life began to pass before her eyes.

She saw her mother…

Her sister…

Laughter, warmth, hope, light.

Then…

Everything shattered.

Thick darkness swallowed the light, casting it down without mercy.

She lived the rest of her life in that darkness…

Until a faint white light appeared.

It approached slowly…

Little by little…

Until it became clear.

Three figures.

Luffy…

Zoro…

And Arthur.

They were looking at her with smiles.

Luffy's smile was the brightest and most serene.

The light overwhelmed the darkness…

And the darkness fell.

Light prevailed.

Nami smiled peacefully and closed her eyes…

Ready for death.

But—

She suddenly felt a hand gripping her firmly.

And something being placed in her mouth.

A cold… refreshing liquid…

Spread throughout her body.

A calm energy flowed through her veins.

She opened her eyes.

Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp were around her.

Their faces were filled with fear and worry.

Luffy said with a trembling smile of relief,

"You're okay… thank God."

Nami sat up slowly, her eyes filled with shock.

'How…?

I'm sure I stabbed myself… I was dying.'

Then she noticed the absence.

"Luffy… where is Arthur?"

A heavy silence fell.

A few minutes earlier—

When they heard the gunshot, they all rushed over.

They found Nami drowning in her own blood.

They tried to wake her… but it was useless.

'System… it hasn't even been a day since I took out the elixir.

Can I take out another elixir?'

| You can, but under one condition.

Either pay 500 Fame Points…

Or exchange one of your body parts. |

I don't have 500 points…

The crew shouted:

"Arthur! Take out the elixir!"

"You said you had four!"

"Save Nami quickly!"

No one knew the price.

Arthur raised his right hand.

He looked at it…

Then suddenly—

He struck his left eye with full force.

A muffled scream escaped him.

He pressed—

Then tore his eye from its socket.

Blood poured heavily.

His body trembled from the pain.

'Exchange the elixir for this eye…'

| Confirmed. |

His hand glowed with a faint white light.

The eye disappeared…

And a small box appeared.

The elixir.

Everyone was stunned, their eyes filled with disbelief at what they had just witnessed.

Arthur placed the elixir in Luffy's hand, then stood calmly, though his remaining eye burned with restrained fury.

He said in a firm voice:

"Luffy… give the elixir to Nami, and make sure she's still alive before she drinks it, or the consequences will be severe and uncontrollable. As for me… I'm going."

Luffy carefully poured the elixir into Nami's mouth, while Zoro approached Arthur and asked,

"Where are you going?"

But before he could finish, he looked at Arthur's face…

An inner rage boiled within him. His features had turned demonic in every sense of the word. He was no longer human.

Arthur pressed the ground beneath his feet, then smashed it with absolute violence, launching himself at extreme speed toward Arlong, leaving the crew and village behind.

He vanished from their sight in an instant.

In front of Arlong Park, all the villagers had gathered to rebel against their tyrant.

One of them was about to strike the gate, but before he could—

A thunderous roar tore through everyone's ears, a beast screaming a name:

"ARLONG!"

The sky and earth trembled from the force of the voice. Every body shuddered in fear before that dreadful echo.

Suddenly, a dark shadow burst through the gate, smashing it with his bare body and sending debris flying everywhere.

Arlong had been seated comfortably, seemingly enjoying himself with the rat-faced Marine who had stolen Nami's money.

But his expression trembled when he heard that violent voice calling his name.

He looked toward the shadow, his voice shaking.

"Who are you?"

Arthur answered with terrifying coldness, his voice resounding like a storm:

"I… am the Sky Demon. I am Nami's companion, you filthy bastard."

Arthur crushed the ground beneath him and lunged toward Arlong, but before he could reach him, two guards stood in his way.

He gave them no chance.

He struck them with unimaginable speed.

He tore the first one's throat violently, then kicked the second into the sky before he crashed down dead.

All the fish-men gathered around Arthur, their eyes filled with rage and hatred, ready to tear him apart.

But none of them knew that the Sky Demon Arthur had completely lost his sanity.

His anger was not only toward Arlong, but toward all of Nami's past.

Anger for her mother's death, for her sister's suffering, for injustice and corruption, for the suicide that had nearly claimed his friend's life.

Arthur smiled in the middle of the crowd—

Then laughed.

A hysterical, insane laugh. His roar shook everyone around him.

"Today… there is no escape for you!

Either me… or you!

I will kill everyone who stands before me… I will leave no one alive, you bastards!"

Arthur moved like a storm, punching, crushing, never ceasing his motion.

He shattered the first, then the second, then the third… his body did not stop.

He killed and tore life from half of them within moments.

Meanwhile, the rat-faced Marine ordered his men to fire at Arthur.

The first bullet pierced his shoulder, but it did not weaken him—

It only made him stronger.

His rage intensified. He launched himself again at the remaining fish-men, tearing them apart with savage brutality beyond description.

Some tried to flee, but Arthur, no longer sane, stood before them… and he had only one goal:

Kill Arlong and his pirates, no matter the cost.

After exactly ten minutes, Arthur had taken down all the fish-men by himself.

The dead filled the place… blood flowing everywhere.

Even with five bullets lodged in his body, he did not stop.

He continued his massacre, as he had promised… until he eliminated everyone standing before him—except Arlong himself.

Arthur stood in the middle of the carnage, upon a ground covered in corpses and blood.

Arlong, alongside the few remaining men beside him, was afraid, terrified, and enraged all at once.

The rat-faced Marine trembled before the demon standing before him.

He remembered the words of a soldier who had previously reported the Straw Hat Pirates to the Marines.

He had told them about Luffy and his crew's crimes and warned them about one particular member:

The Sky Demon, Arthur Narin.

Arthur's appearance, as the soldier described, matched exactly the image on the wanted posters.

After the incident at Sanji's restaurant, three bounties had been issued for the crew:

Luffy: 100,000,000 Beli

Zoro: 95,000,000 Beli

Arthur: 90,000,000 Beli (Dead Only)

For Luffy and Zoro, it read "Alive or Dead."

But for Arthur, it read "Dead Only"…

Arthur's crimes against the Marines had made them demand only his head.

Arthur stood before Arlong.

The demonic smile vanished from his face, replaced by indescribable rage and hatred.
