Chapter 10
The Sky Demon Arthur Narin
Darkness engulfed Arthur's body as he descended rapidly into the depths of the sea, the cold water pressing in on him from every side.
'Are you kidding me… Is this my end? Am I going to die like this? Damn…'
His voice echoed only within himself as the pressure around his body increased moment after moment.
'My ribs… shattered. My lungs are crushed, my ribcage broken… I can't breathe, I can't even move. I think my spine was destroyed by that blow.'
He stopped thinking for a moment, then—unexpectedly—a calm smile formed on his face, filled with a strange sense of relief.
'The storage…'
With difficulty, he opened his storage and took out a small vial of the healing elixir. He moved his hand with extreme effort, as though it no longer obeyed him, until he managed to raise the vial to his mouth. He opened it with difficulty and began to drink its contents.
Only a moment passed.
Vitality surged through his body all at once—a warm, powerful energy spreading through his veins, as though life itself had begun flowing within him anew. Bones mended, lungs healed, and his organs settled back into place as if nothing had ever happened.
Arthur smiled beneath the cold water, then moved his body freely, calmly directing himself toward the Marine ship.
---
"You damned bastards! They hit Arthur!"
Luffy shouted in furious rage, about to charge toward the Marine ship with the intent to fight, anger blazing in his eyes.
At that moment, Zoro moved swiftly. He threw his swords aside and leapt into the sea without hesitation, diving and searching with his eyes for any trace.
The minutes passed heavily… then at last Zoro emerged from the water.
Everyone stared at him, waiting for a word, a sign, any hope.
But the expression on Zoro's face was enough to explain everything.
Pain… sorrow… anger… and the torment of losing a comrade.
These emotions passed across his face in deadly silence, then anger reflected in everyone's eyes as they understood the meaning of that look.
Luffy had been deflecting cannon fire without attacking, waiting for Zoro's return. But when he saw his expression, everything changed.
Luffy grew angry.
The entire crew prepared to fight to the death.
Before they could launch—
A sharp, agonized scream rose from inside the Marine ship.
Luffy's crew froze suddenly, standing still as they listened.
The screams continued… minute after minute.
After about five minutes, silence fell.
Four Marine soldiers stood at the front of the ship, their weapons aimed at Luffy and his crew. But after hearing the screams, they stopped and turned their guns inward, toward their own ship, not knowing what was happening.
"Don't tell me… did one of Don Krieg's pirates escape?" one of them said nervously.
At that moment, a door inside the ship opened.
The soldiers immediately raised their guns.
A dark shadow stepped forward slowly.
With each step, the figure became clearer.
Their hearts stopped.
A dead man… moving.
His body was covered in fresh blood, an exhilarated smile fixed upon his face. His black eyes, once dim, now shone with a demonic… sacred light.
Arthur struck the deck with his foot, releasing his strength, and leapt toward the four soldiers.
One of them began firing.
Arthur raised his hands before his body and deflected the bullets with complete ease, then reached the soldier in the blink of an eye. He seized the weapon, shoved it into the man's mouth, and pulled the trigger.
He moved to the second, then the third… and cut them down without hesitation.
When he stood before the fourth, he smiled calmly.
"Go, and tell them… that the Sky Demon, Arthur Narin, is angry."
The soldier trembled and wet himself.
Arthur smiled one last time, then jumped from the Marine ship back to Luffy's vessel.
---
Stunned silence fell.
Before anyone could speak, Luffy ran at full speed, leapt onto Arthur, and embraced him tightly.
"I thought you were dead… I thought I couldn't protect you, like before!"
His voice was a mixture of unbelievable joy and suppressed sorrow.
Arthur smiled with genuine relief.
"And how could I die… and leave my foolish captain behind?"
Luffy's body trembled for a single second, sadness flickering in his eyes, then he burst into laughter and joy.
The entire crew rushed toward Arthur, but he stopped them with a gesture of his hand.
"Guys, I'm covered in blood from head to toe. Let me bathe first, then we'll get that damned cook and leave this place."
Everyone smiled.
Arthur headed toward the ship's bath.
From behind him, Luffy shouted, "Arthur! We're going into the restaurant now. When you're done, catch up with us!"
---
The ship grew quiet.
In the bath, Arthur removed his bloodstained clothes and washed, cleansing the traces of battle from his body. Afterward, he dressed in the stored gift clothes: black cloth trousers, a black shirt, and a dark men's kimono.
He smiled as he lowered the left side of the kimono, revealing his hand, then made his way toward the floating Baratie restaurant.
He entered the restaurant—and stopped.
Before his eyes was a strange sight.
Two men were fighting.
One was clearly a Marine soldier, blood flowing from all over his body, suspended by his neck in his opponent's grip.
The other wore elegant black clothing, blond hair covering one eye, anger blazing in his features.
"What's happening here?"
Arthur closed his eyes calmly and activated the Eye of the Sky technique.
He looked at the Marine soldier: Level 17.
Then at the other man.
| Name: Vinsmoke Sanji
Level: 42 |
"Damn… his level is slightly below Zoro's. Very strong… Is he a pirate?"
"Arthur! Come here!"
Zoro called.
Arthur smiled and walked toward them. Everyone was seated around a table, except for Luffy.
Arthur sat down and drank a glass of water.
"Where's Luffy?"
Zoro smiled. "Before you arrived, he caused trouble, and the cooks took him to the head chef."
Arthur struck his forehead.
"Damn… it hasn't even been ten minutes. How did he cause trouble that fast?"
At that moment—
The noise began to rise.
Arthur turned and saw that Sanji had already been restrained by the other cooks, while the Marine soldier who had been hanging moments earlier was about to flee.
Just then, another Marine soldier rushed into the restaurant, his body trembling violently, his eyes filled with clear terror. It was the same soldier Arthur had previously released.
The soldier staggered forward and stopped before his captain.
"Sir… a great disaster!"
He spoke in a broken voice from sheer fear.
The captain growled, his body covered in blood, anger mixed with fear in his tone. "What's happening? Did one of Don Krieg's pirates escape?"
Before the soldier could answer, voices rose from the crowd inside the restaurant:
"Don Krieg is here!"
"Did he really escape?"
"He's a savage pirate!"
"Damn it, why now?"
The soldier trembled even more, then swallowed with difficulty.
"No, sir… it's worse. Two hundred pirates from Don Krieg's crew… were all killed while in custody. The only ones who escaped were Don Krieg and two others with him."
Silence fell, as though the air had been sucked from the room. Two hundred pirates… killed.
Then, contrary to expectation, the crowd erupted in cheers and relief when they realized the pirates were gone.
But an angry voice cut through the celebration:
"What are you saying?! Who committed this massacre?! I was planning to deliver them to headquarters and earn a promotion!"
The Marine captain shouted, fury blazing in his eyes as his hopes were shattered.
The soldier hesitated, then said in a trembling voice, "And that's not all… one hundred Marine soldiers were killed as well. I'm the only one who survived."
Faces froze, bodies trembled.
"He didn't just kill the pirates… he killed Marine soldiers too?! Who would do something so vile in their right mind?"
Sanji said with disgust, placing a glass before Nami.
Usopp and Nami trembled, exchanged quick glances, then looked toward Arthur. Fear was evident in their eyes… not of the soldiers, but of their comrade's anger.
But Arthur was frighteningly calm, eating comfortably as though nothing had happened.
Zoro smiled faintly, as if pride flickered across his features.
The Marine captain roared violently, "Who is this damned madman?! I'll kill him… I'll burn him… I'll crush him!"
The trembling soldier slowly raised his head and looked toward the table where Arthur was sitting. His eyes widened, and he screamed, pointing:
"It's him… the Sky Demon Arthur Narin!"
Silence fell like a blade. Not a single word was spoken; even the sound of a needle hitting the floor would have been heard.
Not only because he had killed Don Krieg's pirates… but because he had killed one hundred Marines as well. And worse… this demon was here.
The Marine captain charged toward the table in blind fury.
"Who is Arthur Narin?!"
No one looked at him. Everyone continued eating in silence.
Sanji stepped forward when he saw the captain approach again, but before he could intervene—
The captain reached out and grabbed Nami by the head violently, shouting, "You bastards! Tell me who Arthur Narin is!"
Sanji moved in anger, but what happened next was faster than any reaction.
Nami did not scream, nor did she resist. She only smiled… because she knew what would happen.
In a swift strike, a fork pierced the captain's hand. A figure leapt, tore the fork free, and began stabbing the man's hand madly until it was completely destroyed.
The captain collapsed to the ground; everything had happened in mere seconds.
He looked at his hand… it was no longer a hand, but shredded flesh hanging by remnants of veins. He screamed in pain and terror.
Arthur stood over him, his cold smile unwavering.
"I am the Sky Demon Arthur Narin, you bastard. How dare you touch one of my comrades?"
Then he added in a calm, deadly tone:
"It seems you've grown tired of that hand… haven't you?"
Arthur raised his foot and kicked the severed hand violently. It flew across the restaurant and struck the soldier who was cowering in fear.
Arthur bent down, grabbed the captain—who had fainted from pain and terror—and dragged him until he reached the trembling soldier.
He threw the body on top of him and said coldly:
"Take him and go. Tell everyone what happened. Tell them that Arthur Narin, of the Straw Hat crew of Monkey D. Luffy, did this."
The soldier needed no further command. He lifted his captain and turned, fleeing at full speed…
