How is it possible to mess up an apple? HOW?
Silas looked at the apple core he had balanced on the table.
The apple was all mushy and had a grainy texture.
He picked up his apple juice and took a sip. Just then, the whole cafeteria quieted.
"Who are they?" Bella asked.
"The Cullens."
"They're Dr and Mrs Cullen's foster kids. They moved down here from Alaska a few years ago."
"They kinda keep to themselves."
"Yeah, 'cause they're all together, like together, together."
Silas looked at the table that Bella sat at.
The gossiper, Jessica.
Then turned his attention to the group walking in.
At the front was Emmett and Rosalie, Emmett had a light grin and Rosalie also had an amused smile.
Close behind came Jasper and Ella.
Behind them walked a short cute girl, with a pixie haircut.
Silas raised his eyebrows slightly. She must be Alice.
"Who's that…?" He was brought back by Bella's question, he now regretted focusing his divine sense there. Sigh.
"Him? That's Edward Cullen…"
Enough! I don't wanna hear.
Silas abruptly stopped listening.
He looked over at the guy that entered last. Edward Cullen, the emo sulker, who plays yo-yo with emotions.
Silas looked down at the apple juice and then took a sip. He then focused his attention on the Cullen table, using his divine sense, so hearing what they were saying was easy.
"Emmett, you're good brother is sitting alone over there." Rosalie quipped.
Emmett looked up from his tray and looked around.
"Where?"
Rosalie moved her head.
"There."
Alice heard this and her interest was immediately piqued, like a shark smelling blood.
"New guy? Where?"
She followed Emmett's line of sight and saw the lone figure sitting by the table close to the wall.
She narrowed her eyes, he… looked familiar.
"Wow, you're right he's really handsome… even by vampire standards, in fact… I don't think I've seen someone that handsome." Alice said, looking thoughtful.
Rosalie looked over with some displeasure.
"Don't say stuff like that out loud in public."
Alice smiled in response.
Rosalie then turned her attention to Emmett, a mischievous smile forming on her face.
"Emmett. Why not call your good brother over here, he can sit with us, so he isn't lonely."
Alice turned to look at Emmett.
"Yeah, call him over, it's too sad to sit alone on your first day."
Emmett didn't realize he had walked straight into a trap.
"Sure thing, can't let my brother sit alone."
Just as he finished saying that he raised his hand and tried to make contact with Silas.
Hmm? What is this big guy up to?
Is he waving at me? I don't see, I don't see.
Silas turned his head to the side, ignoring Emmett's waves.
"That's your good brother, haha." Rosalie couldn't hold it in.
Emmett pursed his lips in displeasure.
"He just didn't see, alright?"
"See he's looking in the other direction."
Alice was holding her hand for her mouth and snickering, then said.
"Maybe he wants to sit alone?"
Emmett then seemed to have gained a life saving straw.
"Right! If he wanted to sit at a table, which table couldn't he sit at? Look at those cheerleaders over there, their eyes are pretty much plastered to him."
Alice looked over and saw the cheerleaders looking at Silas, they would say something then start to chuckle.
Alice furrowed her brows, a look of displeasure flashing in her eyes that even she didn't notice.
Vixens.
Just then Jasper leaned over.
"Are you talking about the new kid?"
Rosalie smirked and said.
"Yeah, Emmett's good brother…"
Jasper nodded then said.
"He's a little strange."
This caught the attention of all of them.
"What do you mean?" 5x
Jasper was surprised that just that sentence caught all their attention.
"Well… I can't read his emotions, not what he is really feeling."
"And he doesn't move like a typical teenager."
They turned their heads from Jasper to Silas then back.
Rosalie the ever sceptic asked.
"What do you mean you can't read his emotions? Like he's emotionless?"
Jasper shook his head.
"No, not emotionless, it's more like I feel all his emotions at the same time, all just as strong… it's just gibberish."
Edward frowned and focused on Silas.
Edward looked over to the rest of his family just to realize that they were all looking at him.
"So?"
"It was just as Jasper said, I couldn't read his thoughts, it was all just chaotic words that didn't form a sentence, it was like how you would imagine the mind of a crazy person."
Rosalie frowned in displeasure.
"Great, now we go to school with a crazy person."
Just as she finished speaking Emmett and Alice looked at Rosalie and said.
"He's not crazy!" 2x
Alice and Emmett looked at each other then back at Rosalie.
Just as she was about to refute, Jasper spoke.
"He isn't crazy, I've spoken to him, he's a little cold but definitely not crazy."
Emmett quickly quipped in.
"He's good at math too."
Rosalie just turned her head away.
Emmett and Alice raised their heads in a triumphant way.
On a table close to the wall Silas had a strange expression.
Had he just been compared to a crazy person? Just 'cause your supernatural abilities don't work… there's something wrong with me?
He had been watching Bella and Edward have a staring contest then heard he had been compared to being crazy… who would be happy?
Seeing as there was nothing more to get from this he stood up and grabbed his apple core and empty apple juice container and walked over to the trash can.
He felt a lot of gazes on him as he walked out.
Hmm. What was my next class?
Silas was lost in thought as he walked through the near empty corridors. With this pace he soon arrived at his locker.
He opened it, and looked at his schedule. Art.
His next class was art. He looked in his locker but couldn't find any books used for art, so he grabbed a notebook and pen.
Could this be wrong?
He then looked at the map and started to walk in the direction of the art classroom.
It was right next to those other airy fairy subjects like music and dance.
But as he walked he didn't realize he had gotten a little tail.
He was too focused on being displeased about these pseudo subjects… he felt they were a waste of time.
It was mainly because he couldn't play an instrument, dance or paint. He had never had time to learn in any of his lives.
Then suddenly he stopped.
Thud~
Silas turned around as someone bumped into him. As he looked back he saw no one, confused he looked down.
There stood a cute girl with a pixie haircut, rubbing her nose, clearly having just bumped into his back with it.
She looked up with a displeased expression.
"Why did you stop all of a sudden?"
Silas raised his eyebrows.
"Why were you following me?"
The girl, clearly being Alice, caught herself.
"I wasn't following you, we are just heading in the same direction, the art classroom."
Alice felt embarrassed, that was only half the truth, she had been following him. She was curious.
She had remembered where she felt he was familiar from, she had seen him in a vision.
In the vision: he had been standing in front of the Forks sign.
She didn't know what it meant, and now combined with none of her sibling abilities working she was growing increasingly curious.
Silas looked at the girl that was clearly lying to him but didn't take it to heart.
"Then if we are heading in the same direction, can't you show the way?"
Alice was taken aback then smiled.
"No problem."
Just like that they walked towards the arts classroom together.
CHAPTER END.
