Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 [Plunder] Mechanism, Heading to a Bigger Stage

Boom—!

The dark-blue water arrow struck the Winged Cang Wolf's thigh with precision. Though it wasn't a fatal hit, the beast let out an enraged roar as its massive body staggered.

"Oh? I can actually absorb this much demon power? What a divine skill!"

Wang Feng, hiding at a distance, felt a sudden surge of magic energy rushing into his body. A flicker of surprise appeared on his face.

Through hunting the One-Eyed Demon Wolves along the way and his latest strike on the Winged Cang Wolf, Wang Feng had finally gained a preliminary understanding of his Plunder talent.

This talent calculated absorption based on the power of the magic cast. The stronger the magic, the more energy and demon power could be absorbed.

Even though his spells carried no elemental seed, the baseline power of an Intermediate spell still counted as one unit. With Plunder, he could recover 50% of that energy.

In other words—if his spell landed, every Intermediate spell he cast would restore half of the energy spent.

"Not bad. I wonder… if Healing magic can also absorb magic energy?" Wang Feng murmured, his eyes flashing with thought.

His gaze then locked on the Winged Cang Wolf standing atop the Silver Trade Building. Slowly, the corners of his mouth curved upward.

"It's time to end this."

"Chains of Heaven!"

His low roar resonated with the dark storm clouds above Bo City.

Thick water chains surged down like divine bindings, weaving together into a heavenly net that locked onto the Winged Cang Wolf.

The beast tried to leap away, but its hind leg injury from the earlier water arrow slowed its movements. And with so many chains, escape was impossible.

This was, after all, the massive rain cloud that Wu Ku had painstakingly cultivated for two whole days!

In an instant, the Winged Cang Wolf was firmly restrained, its enormous body pinned to the rooftop of the Silver Trade Building.

"A Super-level Mage has acted?!"

Zhan Kong's expression froze, his gaze darting around in search of the mysterious "senior."

To unleash magic of such overwhelming scale, who else but a Super-level Mage? Unless… a Calamity Mage?

The thought chilled him, but he quickly dismissed it. No Calamity Mage would risk exposure just to aid them.

Meanwhile, Wang Feng—still hidden—nearly cursed out loud at Zhan Kong's hesitation.

I'm only here to provide support and test Plunder's mechanism!

It wasn't that he lacked the ability to slay the Winged Cang Wolf himself.

But as a Healing Mage recognized throughout Bo City, if he openly displayed the strength to kill a Commander-level demon, by tomorrow the Other Tribunal would be knocking on his door, cheerfully announcing:

"Open up—it's time for your community warmth delivery!"

Until he had enough strength and influence, he couldn't afford to reveal too many of his trump cards.

Zhan Kong scanned the area but found no trace of any "senior." His heart sank, but determination flashed in his eyes.

"Since this senior has bound the Winged Cang Wolf, then I'll be the one to finish it!"

With that, his Star Atlas flared to life—one, two, three… seven brilliant Atlases spun together, forming a magnificent Constellation.

Within its glow, a crimson flame slowly condensed, radiating searing heat.

"Heavenly Flame Funeral—Hellfire!"

With a furious roar, Zhan Kong summoned a meteorite of crimson flame. It fell like judgment from the heavens, smashing directly onto the Winged Cang Wolf's exposed head.

"You beast—die!"

Boom—!

The meteorite struck true. The wolf's head ignited instantly, flames devouring its body. The Chains of Heaven evaporated in the inferno's heat.

"Wings of Wind—Blade Wind Slash!"

In the blink of an eye, Zhan Kong's figure became a razor wind, slicing clean across the beast's neck.

Swish—thud!

The Winged Cang Wolf's massive head toppled, crashing onto the rooftop of the Silver Trade Building.

Its life force dissipated completely.

Above, the eight Intermediate military mages stared in shock before breaking into joyous cheers.

"We won! We actually won!"

Zhan Kong exhaled a long breath, his gaze lingering on the distant skies. He knew—the mysterious senior might never show themselves, but their intervention had secured this victory.

"Thank you, senior…" he whispered softly.

Then, to his subordinates: "Assist the City Hunter Team in clearing the remaining demons in Bo City!"

"Yes, Commander!"

Meanwhile, Wang Feng, hidden in the shadows with Moon, glanced one last time before quietly slipping away.

Ancient Capital.

Ye Chang lounged lazily on her sofa, a glass of crimson wine in hand. The calm atmosphere was soon broken by urgent footsteps. Her gaze instantly sharpened.

If there wasn't a good explanation, the intruder would simply become her next experiment.

"Master… the sect leader has ordered the plan canceled!"

Fang Shaoli, one of Salan's nine disciples, reported nervously. Delivering bad news to Ye Chang was no small matter.

"What happened?"

The wine glass in Ye Chang's hand shattered, crimson liquid spilling like blood across the floor.

Fang Shaoli quickly explained the events of Bo City.

"Oh? A small city like Bo hides a Super-level Water Mage?"

Interest glimmered in Ye Chang's eyes.

She rose from the sofa, her voice firm and commanding:

"Tell Wu Ku and Mu He to withdraw to Ancient Capital. Everything else is trivial. Ancient Capital must not falter."

"Yes, Lord Salan!"

Several days later.

The streets of Bo City still carried a faint stench of blood. Though the disaster had ended, the scars remained.

Workers cleared the debris, striving to bring life back to the city. Yet many residents chose to abandon Bo City altogether, seeking safety in larger cities.

Wang Feng stood before the Wang Medical Clinic, his gaze resting on the familiar signboard. With a complicated look in his eyes, he reached out and hung a wooden plaque:

"Permanently Closed."

"Brother Wang Feng, are we not coming back?" Ye Xinxia asked softly beside him, her eyes filled with quiet reluctance.

Wang Feng turned, smiling gently at her delicate face.

"Probably not. Bo City is too small… and it's time for us to head toward a bigger stage."

His gaze softened, anticipation glimmering in his eyes.

"Will you come with me?"

Ye Xinxia's face brightened with a radiant smile, her eyes shining with trust and devotion.

"Of course. Wherever Brother Wang Feng is, I will be."
