Their conversation ended immediately as silence suddenly fell over the street and the chaos vanished all at once.
Anna scanned her surroundings completely forgetting about Riley , then when she saw that the clouds no longer hid the sun , understanding dawned on her.
"It's the sun." Said Anna while putting Riley down.
The switch from confused curiosity, straight to dead pan battle mode surprised even Riley but his main focus was on the two Vampires hiding in a nearby house
"Enough games Marishka , kill him or you shall not taste Anna's blood."
"How about that strange child Verona? He is dangerous." Replied Marishka more curious than worried.
"The master is curious about him. Aleera has her orders , if the child cannot be taken alive he dies."
The eldest bride literally hissed out the threat somehow managing to make it sound even less threatening with her parched sounding throat.
Since Van Hellsing was going to kill a bride , Riley was thinking about wether he should also kill one so he wouldn't have to go through the whole plot.
However his train of thought was interrupted by the pinging of the system as a new sign in message appeared.
[Character : Aleera]
[Event : Hiding in the well]
[Would you like to sing in]
[Y] [N]
That basically gave him his answer.
The Brides would die in their destined order and Riley wouldn't kill them himself. However , that didn't mean he couldn't get involved.
"Mr. Van Hellsing , may I." asked Riley gesturing to the crossbow.
Since he had been given the revolver , Van Hellsing didn't hesitate much and handed it to Riley expecting him to atleast struggle with it's weight or make a fool out of himself.
Riley held the crossbow like it was weightless then aimed for the house where Marishka and Verona were hiding.
Straight away from the first bolt , Riley hit nothing but flesh and he kept on hitting it over 30 times filling the house with screeches and screams of pain and anger.
Immediately he noticed the sky darkening though , Riley tossed the crossbow back to Van Hellsing as everyone else looked on stunned then he pointed upwards at the vanishing sun.
Understanding dawned on them fast and the villages who had started coming out rushed right back into their houses while Van Hellsing tried to choose between the revolver and crossbow.
'Ok , time for some aura farming.' Riley thought excitedly while stretching lightly.
When the clouds blocked sunlight once again , both Marishka and Verona broke out of the home they were hiding in revealing their wounded but rapidly healing forms after which Aleera shot out from the well.
Since Van Hellsing was the one holding the crossbow , their furious hisses were directed at him giving Anna enough time get a head start which she used well.
"I will get her." Said Verona giving Riley a brief glare before flapping in the direction Anna went.
Riley smiled brightly then set his backpack on a more clean stone with casual movement.
Van Hellsing had obviously noticed this and frowned getting ready to drop his crossbow and use smaller guns instead , but he saw Riley crouch then shoot forward in a blur.
The ground where Riley had been cracked as he shot forward then leapt right onto a tree before rebounding and appearing right before Verona.
The eldest Vampire bride didn't even have time to slow down before Riley smacked her right on her shoulder almost ripping it completely off and knocking her though the tree then into an empty cart that exploded to pieces.
That one move brought silence to the entire street and both brides remaining in the air froze in a mix of shock , rage and disbelief.
Van Hellsings face showed more of grim realization and stunned silence while Carl seemed to be trying but failing to process what he had just seen.
Landing down smoothly in a crouch , Riley smirked at Aleera then said, "Let's see if you can take me alive , or kill me."
With another explosion of force which even released a small shockwave of air , Riley blurred to the fountain then leaped into the air above Aleera.
The Vampire bride was still only starting to turn around when Riley brought a weak looking slap down ontop of her head.
The force behind that small hand fractured her Skull and nearly popped one of her eyes them sent her shooting down where she smacked onto the stone street Riley had already damaged with enough force to crack it even more.
Marishka screeched after seeing this but didn't attack Riley since she knew that both her sisters were still alive and almost already completely healed.
Unfortunately for the brides , that was exactly what Riley wanted. Durable , regenerating punching bags which could help him show everyone a hint of what he is truly capable of.
Riley had used the lowest amount of strength he could at the moment , which was about 10% , but he wanted to be able precisely use strength below even that at will so this could also be considered practice.
He loved his growing strength it but it would , without a doubt , be a hindrance in spars , practice sessions and training in the future so it was definitely better to practice on opponents he didn't care about hurting.
Less than 10 seconds after Riley smacked down Aleera , Verona shot out of the cart's remains flying straight towards Riley with her monstrous face fully displayed in rage.
At the same time , Aleera , got up and circled Riley to wait for an opening that Verona would create.
With the rich combat knowledge of admiral Kizaru , Riley recognized what they were doing immediately and decided to give them false hope.
Crossing his arms , Riley blocked Verona's claws with his bare arms watching the claws scrape across his skin without finding purchase or even leaving a single mark.
At that same moment , Aleera dive bombed him from behind aiming to crush him into the ground with all her strength and weight.
In a split second , Riley extended both his hands and grabbed Verona's left arm then swung her right at Aleera like a baseball bat.
Their collision sent a loud crack echoing through the street before both Vampires fell in a tangle of broken bones and wings.
'Now that is.....an ass whooping.' Thought Riley with a smile while clapping nonexistent dust from his palms.
