Hailey walked into her room and after taking a shower she stared at the container of pills in the nightstand.
"Stop taking whatever he gives you for a few days"
Hardin's words rang in her head and she sighed,
she really didn't want to doubt Cole but she has never been to the hospital with him to get the pills, he only brought it to her and he was overly conscious about her taking them.
She thought he just wanted her to regain her memories very fast but she couldn't help but doubt.
She ran her hands through her hair roughly, she shouldn't have spoken to that man, she laid on her
bed.
She took one last look at the container and decided to sleep, it won't hurt to skip for a day right?
______
Hailey woke up the next day and after taking her bath she walked downstairs to eat, Cole hasn't left yet.
"Morning" he smiled at her and Hailey smiled back.
"Morning" she said as she sat on the dining chair while the maid served the food.
"Did you take your medicine before you slept last night? And this morning too" Cole asked.
"Yes" Hailey lied through her teeth, he always does this, asks if she has taken her medicine.
One day she had forgotten to take the medicine because she wasn't used to it then.
She could remember how mad he was at her when she told him she had forgotten. She hadn't seen him that angry before.
"Just keep taking them and your memories would come back" Cole said and Hailey nodded.
After breakfast, Cole left the house and Hailey went back to her room staring at the container.
She stared at it for 5mins straight and decided to put on something casual.
She took the container of medicine and left the house to a hospital.
She went to a hospital in the City, she actually entered the first one she saw when got to the main street.
She gave the nurse the container to help check what kind of medication was in it.
When the results came in she was more than surprised, she was shocked and shattered.
He has been lying to her, she bit her lips subconsciously and brought out the business card Hardin gave her.
_____
"Do you really think being in Australia changes anything?
You left your company in New York and followed me here, are you a stalker?"
Cole said to Hardin with a smirk but Hardin had an unreadable expression on his face.
He had called Cole over to his place, he wanted to "talk" to him and Cole came because he saw it as an opportunity to gloat.
"You know as well as I do that I have businesses in Australia, way more than you can ever imagine, if anything I should be worried about you" Hardin smirked back at him.
"You left your company in New York and came here just for what?" Hardin asked and Cole smirk vanished.
"I would do anything just to make sure you suffer, I'm surprised it took you that long not to notice she wasn't Hailey,
either Lucy was really got at acting or you're just dumb" Cole replied, his smirk returning.
"So you erased her memory, just to bring her here and hurt me?" Hardin asked.
"Isn't it obvious? I did the same with Lucy, you fell for it so well and you fell for this again too, you're pathetic" Cole laughed mockingly.
"You're just using her?" Hardin asked and Cole chuckled.
"Too bad you can't do anything about it, I mean her memories are gone and she trusts only me, no one else," Cole replied.
"How dare you?!" Hailey's voice was heard and Cole turned wearily with a shocked expression on his face.
Hailey had an angry look on as she glared at him and Hardin smiled triumphantly.
"I think you're the one who fell," Hardin smirked and Cole frowned.
"This was a set up" he said to Hardin and Hailey stormed towards him, she slapped him hard on his
cheek and Cole held the slapped spot.
"I trusted you and you lied to me for weeks, don't you have any shame at all" she yelled and Cole glared at her.
"What gives you the right to hit me, you bitçh" he yelled and wanted to hit her back but he never got a chance cause Hardin punched him hard on his face.
"It seems punching you is my usual habit" Hardin said to him and he glared at Hardin.
"You both would pay for this" he said before leaving.
Hailey broke down in tears, she would never have expected everything to be lies, the worst part is she couldn't remember anything.
If she hadn't listened to Hardin or let Hardin's words get to her head, she would have been living in lies all her life and worse, she would have married Cole
"You should have waited for him to say everything he did" Hardin said, he was expecting to drain more information from Cole, just to reassure
Hailey cause she still hasn't regained her memories.
"I couldn't take it anymore" she said in shaky breaths and Hardin nodded.
"Don't tell me you're lying to me too" Hailey added
"When you're feeling much better I would tell you everything" Hardin said and Hailey nodded.
"I love you" he said slowly, more of a whisper but.
Hailey heard it.
