Chapter 156 - Esdeath

In the absence of external threats, Asgard's internal affairs were remarkably stable.

The realm operated under a well-established system that ensured prosperity and longevity for all its inhabitants. The Aesir, Odin's divine lineage, held the highest status, followed by the nobility and the commoners. With everyone's place clearly defined, few had the desire—or the power—to cause trouble.

Loki's absurdly easy reign in *Thor: Ragnarok* had already hinted at this.

Whether other great nations were chaotic or not was one thing, but Asgard was truly easy to manage.

Leaving behind a clone of himself—transformed into Loki—to govern Asgard, Han Shaoqing teleported directly to Jotunheim.

Compared to the eternally spring-like and bountiful Asgard, Jotunheim struck Han Shaoqing as a barren and desolate wasteland. Most of its territory was shrouded in ice and snow, frozen solid.

The terrain was rugged and mountainous, with precipitous cliffs and treacherous peaks. Even the trees that managed to grow here were Cold Iron Trees, their wood as hard as steel.

True to their name, these trees radiated a bone-chilling cold and were as tough as iron. Even a Frost Giant would struggle immensely to uproot a single Cold Iron Tree.

Vegetation was so scarce that if Han Shaoqing hadn't known a bit about the Frost Giants, he would have assumed they survived solely on the freezing winds.

*Years of wind and snow have worn the blade's edge,*

*The northern gale howls through the lonely day.*

*The chaotic world appears gaunt and jagged,*

*As smoke from the borderlands never ceases, and yellow clouds blanket the earth in sorrow!*

*By some miracle, the red plum blossoms have lingered,*

*Never falling from the branch...*

Such a harsh and frigid environment was truly only suitable for the Frost Giants. Any ordinary person arriving here without equipment would be turned into an ice sculpture in minutes.

Even the Asgardians were unwilling to set foot on this desolate land.

An environment like this was indeed unfit for normal people to inhabit. No wonder the Frost Giants were always trying to conquer Asgard—they had truly suffered under Odin's rule for a long time!

Standing atop an ice peak that pierced the clouds, Han Shaoqing surveyed Jotunheim. After the battle in Asgard, the Frost Giant King, Laufey, had fallen in combat. Combined with the many Frost Giants who perished in Asgard, the remaining population in Jotunheim was now less than a third of its original number.

Moreover, without a leader, the surviving Frost Giants lived in constant fear, dreading that Asgard would return to settle old scores.

Han Shaoqing had no intention of dealing with these Frost Giants. After reverting to his original form, he silently thought: *"Summon Esdeath."*

As the words fell, light blossomed in the void.

Immediately after, a woman with flawless features and a perfect figure emerged from the void.

As the woman materialized, the temperature in the air seemed to drop a few degrees.

Esdeath's eyes were closed, her long lashes traced with a faint dusting of eyeshadow. Her pale blue hair flowed freely, and her delicate blue brows twitched as she slowly opened her eyes.

Her exquisitely beautiful face was filled with a cold, haughty aura, like a ten-thousand-year-old snow lotus atop a snowy peak. Her slender figure was accentuated by a white military cap and a white Japanese-style military uniform, which strained against her full breasts. Her long, perfect legs fully embodied the phrase "devilish figure, ice-cold beauty."

Like a fairy awakening from a deep slumber, Esdeath's deep blue eyes seemed to eclipse the very heavens and earth the moment they opened, leaving all creation intoxicated.

Seeing Han Shaoqing before her, Esdeath's heart skipped a beat. It was as if warm sunlight had flooded her heart, instantly maxing out her favorability. A slight smile touched her lips as she spoke in Japanese: "Are you my Master? You look quite handsome. Esdeath is ready to serve."

With that, Esdeath knelt on one knee in the snow, bowing her head in submission.

As for the frigid weather of Jotunheim, it posed no threat to Esdeath. In fact, it only served to greatly enhance her power.

"Rise," Han Shaoqing said, reaching out to pull Esdeath to her feet.

The moment his hand touched hers, Esdeath felt a jolt shoot through her, like an electric shock. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a surge of shame and joy washing over her.

"Blushing, are we? To think the Super-S Queen could be so shy," Han Shaoqing remarked, surprised. He then tapped her forehead.

A flood of basic information and the language of the Marvel World poured into Esdeath's mind.

"Ngh..."

The sudden influx of knowledge sent a sharp ache through her head. A low, tantalizingly sweet moan escaped her lips, and a flush of pleasure spread across her face, as if she were savoring the pain.

*This... truly is the Super-S Queen,* Han Shaoqing thought, his heart skipping a beat at the sound of her voice. He quickly suppressed the ripple of desire in his chest.

After a moment, Esdeath processed the knowledge he had implanted. A smile touched her lips. "Another world teeming with evil and countless powerful foes. It seems the future won't be boring after all."

Han Shaoqing waved his hand. A massive golden magic circle materialized in the air before them, tearing through space. From the rift emerged a flying vessel of unparalleled beauty and design, appearing right before Esdeath's eyes.

"Is this... a Flying Imperial Armament?!"

Though Esdeath had received information about the Marvel World, her subconscious still instinctively viewed things through the lens of her original world.

"You could understand it that way. Its name is Vimana, and it is a Noble Phantasm."

Vimana was originally the Throne of the King held by Gilgamesh, its appearance luxurious and exquisite.

Measuring about ten meters in length, its wings were made of emeralds, while the main body was crafted from gold. Upon it sat a pure gold throne, covered with a vermilion carpet. Against the snowy landscape, it radiated a brilliant glow.

After emerging from the Gate of Babylon, Vimana hovered silently in mid-air. It was a Sun Crystal powered by mercury, generating solar energy that allowed it to fly at high speeds, ignoring the laws of physics. Simultaneously, it possessed immense destructive power, equipped with various Noble Phantasm systems and even ancient nuclear warheads—a true Ark of Light that could soar through the heavens.

Though Gilgamesh was no god, the treasures within his Gate of Babylon were indeed Noble Phantasms that would have tempted even the ancient gods. Vimana was one such treasure.

Although Han Shaoqing could fly on his own, having a mount to travel in was a completely different experience from flying himself.

"Vimana?"

Esdeath hadn't received any information about the Noble Phantasm, but she could still see its extraordinary nature. Even in her original world, this would have been a top-tier Imperial Arm of immeasurable value.

Han Shaoqing stepped onto the Vimana, sat upon the throne, and looked at Esdeath. "Come up."

There was only one seat on the Vimana, but there was still plenty of open space. Esdeath leaped lightly onto the Vimana, snuggling up against the throne, her face flushing slightly as her mind wandered.

The Vimana slowly rose into the air, flying toward the Royal City of the Frost Giants.

The Vimana's flight speed was extremely fast, reaching 1.6 Mach at its regular speed. If it were boosted by magical power, it could go even faster.

Such a speed wasn't very fast for Han Shaoqing.

But for Esdeath, it was her first time experiencing such supersonic flight. She felt a mix of nervousness and excitement, her gaze on Han Shaoqing growing even more infatuated as she unconsciously fell into a state of self-delusion.

Fortunately, the Vimana had a special magical barrier for protection. Otherwise, Esdeath would have been blown off by the strong winds the moment she got distracted.

At the Vimana's flight speed, if it were an ordinary Flying Imperial Arm, Esdeath might not have been able to stand on it without using her abilities. But the Vimana had an invisible force field that could keep a person fixed upon it, so the relative airflow from the outside would not affect those on board.

Even if the Vimana flew upside down, no one would fall off.
