Chapter 244 - Chapter 244: Capturing Fenrir, Taking Lupin Away

"I thought I heard someone say they were going to the Werewolf Settlement? And mentioned capturing Fenrir Greyback?"

Putting down her steak, Hermione raised an eyebrow and stared fixedly at Amanda.

Amanda nodded with a calm expression. "Yes. The theoretical phase of research for the counter-curse for the Blood Curse on the Blood Curse Beastman and the Lycanthropy Toxin in werewolves has been completely finished. Next is the experimental phase."

"I need an experimental subject to help me test if the counter-curse is effective, whether there are side effects, and so on. Fenrir Greyback is the best choice."

"I don't deny that," Hermione nodded, sitting down beside Amanda and reaching out to stroke her hair. "But going directly to the Werewolf Settlement... isn't that too risky?"

"What if you get caught or bitten? What then?"

Amanda curled her lips with confidence upon hearing this. "Don't worry, Hermione. Those werewolves can't hurt me."

"Moreover, I have the protective badge," Amanda said, looking down and gesturing to the badge worn on her chest. "Werewolf bites and scratches are within the protective range of the protective badge."

"I actually forgot about that," Hermione whispered, reaching out to pinch the badge on her own chest.

"I want to go with you," Hermione pursed her lips and looked at Amanda, but before the other could speak, she shrugged. "But you'll definitely say no."

Amanda nodded expressionlessly in agreement. "Indeed, it's a no. The scenes then might not be suitable for Hermione to see."

Amanda's direct trip to the Werewolf Settlement this time could be seen as a provocation right in front of the werewolves. Coupled with the fact that she intended to seize the Werewolf leader, Fenrir Greyback, it was like a fancy dance of provocation right before their eyes.

There would definitely be a fierce battle—though for Amanda, it might not be a 'fierce' one.

But the relevant scenes were ultimately not suitable for Hermione to see.

"Fine, I don't absolutely have to go," Hermione sighed helplessly, gently pinching Amanda's nose. "But let's agree first: you are not allowed to get hurt. I'll wait for you to come back, and when you do, I'm going to check you thoroughly, inch by inch."

Nodding with an indifferent expression, Amanda obediently replied, "Alright, I will cooperate with Hermione's inspection then."

Dealing with a pack of werewolves was nothing more. After systematic calculations, evaluations, and reality simulations, Amanda believed she wasn't at a level where she could be harmed.

"Alright, let's eat." Hermione stood up and kissed Amanda's forehead, then went into the kitchen to get other food, leaving the dining table for Amanda to tidy up herself.

She wouldn't easily touch the research materials Amanda had laid out. If Amanda had a specific order and she messed it up while trying to help, wouldn't that be more of a hindrance than a help?

Seeing Hermione enter the kitchen, Amanda also stood up and nimbly tidied the draft papers on the table.

After stacking them together, she placed them on the floor beside her. She could just take them upstairs and put them away after finishing lunch.

"Your well-done steak."

Hermione walked out carrying another portion of steak and a bowl of cream soup, placing them in front of Amanda.

She didn't know if it was because Amanda was from the East, but even though a well-done steak didn't have the best texture, she just liked it well-done.

Hermione showed respect and understanding for this, and every time she made steak, she would specifically cook Amanda's portion longer to ensure it was fully cooked.

Mr. and Mrs. Granger would also subconsciously cook Amanda's steak longer whenever they made it; her taste had already become a consensus in the Granger Residence.

"Thank you, Hermione."

Amanda thanked her politely, lowered her head to take a bite of the steak, and followed it with a small sip of the cream soup.

"How is it? Not bad, right?" Hermione looked at Amanda across from her with a smile, whose cheeks were puffed out.

"Very good." Amanda's eyes curved into crescents; the liveliness and agility of a young girl finally manifested in her.

"I'm glad you like it."

Looking at Amanda's current appearance, Hermione's heart skipped a beat, and she felt a strong urge to lean in and kiss her right now.

Just as she was persuading herself to wait because Amanda was eating and she should wait until she finished, Amanda proactively leaned in, her soft, moist lips pressing against Hermione's.

Hermione's eyes widened instantly. Coming to her senses, she immediately reached out to hold Amanda's head, kissing her back impatiently.

The two girls kissed for a full minute and a half before letting go of each other, foreheads pressed together as they panted, their pink lips still connected by a thin thread of saliva.

"Why did you suddenly kiss me proactively?" Hermione rubbed her forehead against Amanda's, asking in a soft voice.

"Because Hermione wanted to kiss me, but was hesitating because I was eating."

Amanda spoke what she had perceived without a second thought. Hermione burst into laughter and reached out to hug her tightly.

Who said being seen through by the person you like was a scary thing?

As long as you didn't have problems or a guilty conscience, and as long as the person you liked was of good character and a good person, being seen through by them was simply pure bliss!

"You really are such a surprise to me," Hermione whispered in Amanda's ear, her warm breath tickling the ear and making Amanda's body shiver uncontrollably.

"Senior Platt said she could give me the address of the Werewolf Settlement tonight."

"The alchemy golems will also arrive at the location tonight. I plan to go directly there tonight to capture Fenrir Greyback."

"The longer it's delayed, the more variables there will be, and the harder it will be to control the final outcome."

"Alright," Hermione patted Amanda's back, "you have the final say in this regard."

"Just remember to be careful. I'll wait for you to come home."

"Okay." Hearing Hermione's words, Amanda felt as if her whole body was being bathed in the warmth of a small sun. She agreed comfortably, and then the two separated to continue their lunch.

When night fell, Senior Platt sent the location information of the Werewolf Settlement to Amanda via Owl as agreed. She was even thoughtful enough to directly include the accurate latitude and longitude coordinates.

Amanda looked at the precise location on the paper, folded the note and put it in her pocket, then nodded to Hermione and walked straight out the door.

Mr. and Mrs. Granger heard the door open and looked back. Seeing Amanda leave, Mrs. Granger turned to her daughter with some concern.

"Hermione, what is Amanda going to do?"

"Amanda is going to catch a Werewolf, Mom," Hermione told the truth directly.

"A Werewolf?!" Mrs. Granger was stunned for a moment and couldn't help but look at Amanda in surprise. "Werewolves actually exist?"

"Yes, and besides werewolves, there are also Vampires, Giants..."

Hermione began to tell her parents bit by bit about the magical species in the Wizarding World. At the same time, Amanda finally left the yard of the Granger Residence.

Activating a wandless, silent Levitation Charm, she instantly rose into the air. With her hair fluttering behind her, her figure flashed and disappeared into the night.

The Levitation Charm helped Amanda move rapidly, while the Hurricane Curse dispersed the howling winds in front of her. Driven by the Levitation Charm and aided by near-zero reaction force, Amanda reached the Werewolf Settlement in just three minutes.

Landing slowly on the ground, just as Amanda stood firm, the leaves of the surrounding forest began to sway slightly.

In the next moment, as many as a hundred alchemy golems, stretching as far as the eye could see, surrounded Amanda from the forest.

Looking at the alchemy golems around her, Amanda tilted her head. Senior Platt called these 'dolls'?

Was she sure these things were dolls?

These alchemy golems were entirely pitch-black, which indeed made them more suitable for hiding in the night.

Their bodies were relatively similar to humans, with a head, two arms, and two legs—and that was where the greatest similarity to humans ended.

Looking closely, although these golems had two arms, the ten fingers on their hands were sharp blade-like shapes, and their legs from the calf down were extremely sharp weapons.

Behind them, countless metal chains extended from their backs, each with a sharp drill bit at the tip.

According to Amanda's calculations and simulations, the power these drills could provide when combined with these metal chains should be enough to instantly pierce through several humans. Even thick tank armor would be pierced in the blink of an eye.

The fact that these alchemy golems could still stand steadily on the ground with such a structure could only be attributed to how truly useful magic was.

Completing the assessment in her mind took less than five seconds. Amanda slowly turned around to look at the lit-up Werewolf Settlement not far away.

Squinting her eyes to lock onto the Werewolf Settlement, Amanda rose into the air again and swept toward it rapidly. Behind her, a full three hundred alchemy golems followed closely. This formation didn't look like they were here to capture Fenrir Greyback, but rather like they were going to completely wipe out the entire Werewolf Settlement.

Werewolf Wizards possessed better hearing than average people even in their normal state. Therefore, before Amanda and the alchemy golems had even burst out of the forest, the guards of the Werewolf Settlement had already heard the sounds coming from the woods.

One of the guards nodded to the other, who immediately sounded the alarm.

The Werewolf Settlement instantly became lively. Fenrir Greyback, who had been 'feeding,' quickly put down the 'food' in his hand and rushed out of his tent with lightning speed.

"What's going on!"

He shouted at the two guards on the nearby wooden perimeter wall. However, his response was the sudden explosion of the wooden wall, leaving behind a large hole.

Boom!

Accompanied by a deafening explosion, the werewolves present were all left lightheaded and dizzy. Even Lupin, who was hidden among them performing a special mission for the Order of the Phoenix to persuade the werewolves to join their side, felt himself dazed by the shock.

With a casual wave of her hand, the werewolves who happened to be standing between Amanda and Fenrir Greyback were immediately thrown aside, slamming heavily into the ground with a series of dull thuds.

Amanda controlled the Levitation Charm to rapidly approach Fenrir, who hadn't yet recovered from his dizzy state. By the time Fenrir came to his senses, she was already right in front of him.

"Miss Amanda..."

Fenrir narrowed his eyes slightly, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth. Amanda's fame in the British Wizarding World was too widespread—so widespread that even he, the Werewolf leader, had seen her photograph.

Especially since he had heard from Voldemort that this young girl was anything but simple.

"Mr. Greyback," Amanda nodded politely, "I'll have to ask you to come with me."

With a light tap of her right finger, Fenrir suddenly let out a howl. The Werewolf leader, who had harmed countless children, Fenrir Greyback, was pinned directly to the ground by Amanda's Levitation Charm, completely unable to resist.

"Roar..."

Fenrir's screams echoed throughout the Werewolf Settlement, and the werewolves became visibly agitated.

Before the alchemy golems around Amanda could react, she herself was the first to raise her eyelids.

Rumble!

A series of orderly and deafening crashes and wails rang out as every Werewolf in the Werewolf Settlement was forced miserably onto the ground.

Amanda's cold gaze swept over the werewolves she had pinned down. Only two people were still standing in the entire Werewolf Settlement.

Herself and Professor Lupin.

Lying on the ground, Fenrir used all his strength to barely lift his head and look at Amanda. He finally understood what kind of Wizard they were preparing to oppose.

Against such an existence, even Voldemort... could he really defeat her?

Amanda knelt down, her right thumb and index finger separating slightly. Fenrir's mouth was forced open by an invisible force. Looking at the sharp teeth inside that had clearly lost their human characteristics, Amanda nodded in satisfaction.

As expected, this famous Werewolf leader, a notoriously brutal fellow, was likely the Werewolf most deeply affected by the Lycanthropy Toxin in the entire British Wizarding World.

Using him as a test subject was simply perfect.

In the next moment, Fenrir floated up from the ground, and along with him, Professor Lupin and those alchemy golems also floated up.

Professor Lupin struggled to sort out his thoughts. Amanda had suddenly descended from the sky, then gone straight for Fenrir and captured him easily, and finally suppressed the entire Werewolf tribe directly. This series of actions left his brain buzzing.

He had no idea how Amanda had found the Werewolf Settlement, or why she had come to capture Fenrir Greyback. What was even more incomprehensible was that it was one thing to take her target, Fenrir Greyback, and the alchemy golems she brought, but why was she taking him too?!

"Miss Amanda, please put me down. I still have instructions from Headmaster Dumbledore to complete here."

"I know, Professor Lupin," Amanda, floating in the air, turned slowly and stared fixedly at Lupin. "In terms of probability, Headmaster Dumbledore must have sent you to win over the Werewolf Wizards."

"That's right, so you..."

"I'm sorry, but this conflicts with my plan, so I must stop you while I am able."

Amanda shook her head with an indifferent expression. "I have already designed a counter-curse for the Lycanthropy Toxin. Capturing him this time is for the experiment."

Nodding toward Fenrir Greyback beside her, Amanda spoke in a solemn voice. "After this, if the counter-curse is successful, I will work to spread this spell throughout the British Wizarding World, to free as many Werewolf Wizards as possible from the Lycanthropy Toxin."

"But the prerequisite is that these Werewolf Wizards must still possess the mindset of a normal person and not harm others."

She slowly narrowed her eyes to look at the Werewolf Settlement, which was gradually fading from view. "And the upcoming attacks or war that Voldemort will launch will be the best opportunity to distinguish them. All Werewolf Wizards who participate or support him must die."

Using the flattest tone to say the most ruthless words, Amanda gave Professor Lupin a deep look. "So I won't let you dissuade anyone, Professor Lupin. I will send you to the Leaky Cauldron."

Professor Lupin stared at her blankly, a drop of cold sweat slowly sliding down his forehead. Fortunately—fortunately, this child was fundamentally very kind. Otherwise... that would truly be more terrifying than ten Voldemorts combined.
