When I arrived at Cedar Creek, I was immediately assigned to the servant quarters and given a list of duties that left little time for thought. Corvin had given me the letter, had arranged for me to be taken in by Cedar Creek's people under the guise of a servant purchased from another territory.
At first, I had no idea how any of this was supposed to lead me closer to Lilith, standing knee-deep in cleaning supplies while the rest of the pack carried on with their lives, did not feel like the beginning of any grand scheme.
But then, word spread through the packhouse quickly that an Alpha from the neighboring territory of West End would be visiting Cedar Creek to personally thank Alpha Darius for saving her life. And that was when I finally understood: Lilith was coming here.
Shockingly, the moment Lilith crossed into Cedar Creek territory, the next day, a low warmth spread through my chest, and to my absolute disbelief, my wolf seemed almost pleased.
