All Might descended onto the forest-like floor of the pyramid, his boots crunching lightly against wood and scattered leaves. He moved slowly toward the man in the Marine cap, his eyes sweeping across the chamber – it truly felt like stepping into a forest trapped inside a massive wooden structure. His gaze settled on the three Anomalies held high above, studying them closely: dark scales covered every inch of their bodies, and judging by their size, they were easily C-Grade – maybe even bordering on B-Grade. Then he looked at the behemoth wooden creatures; the same intricate craftsmanship he'd seen in the cage and pyramid walls was everywhere, making them seem less like constructs and more like living things.
He continued forward, his steps measured and careful. The man's back was familiar – that height just a little taller than his own, the build, the long black hair flowing down his shoulders. There was no doubt in his mind. It was Maki.
All Might was just three feet away when he reached out to tap his shoulder – but three wooden anchors shot toward him in a flash. He reacted instantly, slapping them aside with a sharp crack.
Kabaaaang....
"Hey… Young Maki – it's me."
Maki turned, and his red eyes met All Might's bright blue ones.
"Ah… Superman? Sorry. I got distracted for a moment."
All Might studied those detached eyes – but the tone of Maki's voice held a hint of genuine apology. He let out a booming laugh. "HAHAHAHA… don't worry about that at all!" He glanced at the suspended Anomalies. "So you resolved everything already?"
Maki's eyebrows shot up in confusion. "Resolved…?"
All Might nodded firmly. "Yeah! You took care of the Anomalies."
Maki followed his gaze to the dark creatures, then snapped his right fist into his left palm with a sharp slap. "Nalunngilunga – oh, you mean these aliens? Yeah, they were shouting and screaming way too loud. So… all good now." He gave All Might a thumbs-up – the same gesture the hero had used when they first met.
All Might grinned and returned the thumbs-up. "That's the spirit!" His mouth twitched slightly at Maki's deadpan delivery, but he just gave another thumbs-up in response before letting out another echoing laugh. "HAHAHAHAHAHA… must've been a tough fight, Young Maki! Did you get hurt at all?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
"No… I'm alright." Maki nodded calmly.
All Might smiled warmly. "You saved hundreds of lives today, Maki – that's truly incredible work."
"I… I understand."
All Might frowned slightly to himself. Most people would beam with pride at praise like that – but Maki's expression was unchanged, his eyes still calm and unbothered. It was puzzling, but he said nothing more about it.
Then sounds filtered in from outside the pyramid – footsteps, shouting, chatter growing louder by the second.
"Heeeyyy – just what is this thing?!"
"Do you think the Anomalies are inside?!"
"I saw All Might head this way!"
"Then the fight must be over already!"
"But what's with all this wood covering the street?!"
"What grade do you think those Anomalies were?!"
"Quit talking and let's get in there! We need to check for survivors!"
"Hurry up – move it!"
"Get out of the way, you extras!"
"Over there! There are people in a wooden cage!"
"Then go check on them, idiot!"
"Move… move… move…!"
"WIIIIWOOOOWIIIWOOOWIIWOOO!"
"Stay sharp – we don't know what might come out!"
"It'll be fine! All Might's in there – if it's quiet, everything's done!"
"But this pyramid isn't normal…!"
"Do you think the Anomalies built it?!"
"Shut up and focus, fool! BAMMM.."
"Check the other buildings for trapped people – hurry!"
"Baaaaang… Baaaaang… baaaaaang!"
"Damn it – this wood is tough!"
"Blaaaah… blaaaa.h… blaaaahhh… blaaaaah… blaaaaah… blaaaah."
Ambulance sirens wailed in the distance, mixing with the sound of police radios and growing crowds.
Maki shifted slightly. "Uhm… I think I need to go first, Superman. Nemuri will probably be worried if I'm not home…"
As he spoke, the five clones finished their work and began moving toward him. All Might's eyebrows shot up as he saw five more figures who looked exactly like Maki. Wooden branches guided them through the chamber, and the clones walked up to stand behind their original. Each one gave All Might a thumbs-up before slowly sinking into Maki's back, their forms dissolving and merging back into his body.
All Might watched in quiet awe. Cloning? he thought to himself. What an incredible ability…😏😏😏😏😏😏😏
