Chapter 166 - 166 SUPERMAN

(っ-_-)っAM N. NOT.

The fight was over? But was it really a fight? Maki had stood there the entire time, watching in silence while his clones worked to incapacitate the noisy creatures. He hadn't even shown his full abilities – he could have used his Moa Moa power to amplify any attack and shatter their mouths in an instant, or drawn his zanpakuto to slice through them like paper. Instead, he left everything to the wooden clones, letting the wood element alone bring down the Anomalies.

He could have ended it faster, easier. But he didn't.

Why?

Who knows?

The Tukeraq Aanaa's bodies hung suspended in the Nessus' massive wooden hands. The fishermen had caught their fish – and held them high not for praise or recognition, but for their own satisfaction.

All Maki had ever wanted was peace and silence. For a fisherman like him, silence was the closest companion there was. To stain it was unforgivable – a breach of respect so severe that those who did so would never again be welcome on a boat, let alone allowed to sail the waters. It was a matter of honor, of reverence for the divine balance he held dear.

His eyes fixed on the dead beasts. From their skull faces down to their long necks, they were split clean in half. Blood still seeped from the wounds as the Nessus gripped the Devouring Flowers atop their heads. Their three arms hung limp at their sides, bodies motionless as they dangled in the air.

The Nessus' serpent heads turned to look at what they held. In the fire-lit pyramid, the centaurs stood tall – conquerors claiming victory over what they saw as pests.

The clones and Maki himself fell still, staring at the scene before them. It was beautiful – like a red sunset sinking into the calm, quiet sea. Their eyes shone as they drank in the sight, committing every detail to memory so they would never forget. Maki's Sharingan whirled, capturing every line, every drop of blood, every flicker of flame.

He was completely mesmerized.

Then his fascination was shattered by a deafening roar:

DETROITOOOOOOOO SMAAAAAAAASH....

BOOOOOOOOoooooOooOooOooOoOoM...

The pyramid shuddered violently. A massive hole tore through its peak, and brilliant daylight flooded in, cutting through the dim firelight. At the center of the breach stood a towering silhouette – broad shoulders, spiky hair, muscles so defined they cast shadows of their own.

His voice boomed through the chamber, echoing off every wooden surface:

"Mō daijōbu! Nazette? Watashi ga kita!"

"Everything's fine now! Why? Because I am here!"

It was " Superman". His bright blue eyes swept across the room, taking in every detail – and what he saw was nothing like he'd expected. The scene wasn't a gruesome battlefield stained with blood. It looked like living art: creatures forged from nature itself, having vanquished monstrous intruders. But this was no painting – every piece was real. The pyramid walls coiled like serpents, flames danced along the wooden pillars, and branches wrapped around massive hands like living vines. Anchors lay scattered across the floor, and the forest itself seemed to have risen up to purge this nuisance from the world.

And at the heart of it all stood a man in a Marine cap, his long black hair flowing in the wind that streamed through the broken peak. He was simply watching – calm, still, as if the sight of behemoths holding dead Anomalies was nothing out of the ordinary.

All Might's gaze lingered on the surreal scenery, then settled on Maki.

"What happened here?" he asked.

A little while back…

All Might had been on patrol. That day alone, he'd stopped two bank robberies and prevented a catastrophic car accident. He was miles from Musutafu, patrolling the streets of Kyoto, when the emergency call came through: Anomalies sighted near 23rd Street in Musutafu.

He didn't hesitate. He pushed forward with all his speed – but he could feel it. His body wasn't what it used to be. His movements were slower, his strength not as fierce as it once was. Frustration burned in his chest as he gritted his teeth, shouting at himself in his mind: Hurry, Toshinori! Move faster! Reach them before it's too late!

When he finally arrived at the scene, what he found wasn't what he'd feared. A massive wooden cage sat at the edge of the street, holding two to three hundred unconscious civilians. He rushed to check each one – they were safe, unharmed, breathing steadily.

Then he felt the tremors. His eyes narrowed, and he followed the vibrations through the street. The roads were covered in splintered wood and fine dust that blurred the view – until he saw it: a colossal pyramid made of intertwined wood, like a thousand serpents coiled together to build a mountain.

BoooooooOooOoOooOOOoOom....

Zaaaaaaaaazaaaaaazaaaaa

Sounds of struggle echoed from within. Without a second thought, All Might leaped into the air, soaring high above the city until he reached the pyramid's peak. He clenched his fist tight, muscles bulging with every ounce of power he could muster.

And he roared:

DETROITOOOOOOOO SMAAAAAAAASH...
