"Verification?" asked Naomasa.
"Yes, Tsukauchi," said All Might, who was seated beside him.
Nezu looked at them and said, "This involves personal and confidential information. I do not want it leaked outside—especially not by you, Miss Makoto."
Makoto widened her eyes. She knew Nezu was aware of certain things she had done.
She simply nodded.
Nezu handed a file to Naomasa.
Naomasa opened it.
He and Makoto saw a picture of a handsome man.
Below it was his information.
Or rather—no information.
It was completely empty.
Naomasa looked up at Nezu.
"So you want me to question him and fill in this information?"
Nezu nodded.
"But it isn't that simple," All Might added, crossing his arms.
Makoto wasn't listening anymore. Her eyes were fixed on the picture.
The name beneath it:
Maki.
"What do you mean?" Naomasa asked.
Nezu shook his head slightly. "You'll understand soon. But we will need your Quirk for this questioning."
"Is he that dangerous?" Naomasa asked, his eyes narrowing.
That question brought Makoto's attention back.
All Might shook his head. "No. It's just that he is extremely well hidden. We have no information about him."
Nezu added, "And if it weren't for his guardian—Nemuri—bringing him here, we wouldn't even know someone like him existed."
The siblings exchanged glances.
Who exactly was this man?
"Have you called for them?" All Might asked Nezu.
"Already done," Nezu replied.
He checked his phone.
"Let's wait. They'll arrive soon."
Makoto and Naomasa's minds were filled with questions.
Wasn't this just a case of an unknown identity?
Why had it become confidential?
Makoto wondered if he might belong to one of the rare races… or perhaps be runaway royalty. She studied his appearance in the photo, imagining different possibilities.
Time passed.
A knock echoed at the door.
The siblings stiffened and looked toward it.
"Come in," Nezu said.
The door opened.
Naomasa and Makoto saw Midnight—R-rated hero—wearing a formal suit. Beside her stood Princess Mei.
They stood up to greet them.
Mei might be royalty, but she acted like she wasn't.
And then—
The atmosphere shifted.
Heavy.
Suffocating.
From the doorway, they saw him.
The cause of all this.
His hair was braided. He wore a sweater.
He was tall.
Very tall.
Almost as tall as All Might.
They stared at him.
All Might couldn't help it. It wasn't just his face.
It was his presence.
There was something… unsettling about it.
Nezu observed Maki carefully. His High Spec Quirk was analyzing him in detail.
Naomasa studied him as well. Years of experience as a detective told him this man was dangerous.
And yet—
Those red eyes.
They weren't hostile.
They weren't concerned.
They were detached.
Empty.
Makoto was the most shocked.
Now she was convinced.
He had to be some kind of hidden royalty from another race.
Their gazes lingered on him.
His posture.
His demeanor.
His presence.
He was not ordinary.
They stood before something unknown.
Silence filled the room.
Until a voice broke it.
Unohana's voice.
"Anata! You're already here. Have you eaten breakfast?"
They saw him turn slightly.
His deep voice answered, "Ah~ good morning, Anata. No, I haven't eaten yet. Nemuri said this was urgent, so I came."
They stared at this strange exchange, mouths slightly open.
Especially All Might and Nezu.
Unohana… that Unohana…
Calling someone like that?
And asking about breakfast?
Hadn't they only just met yesterday?
Mei interrupted, "Hey, enough flirting."
Nemuri added, "Yeah, let's finish this and have breakfast together."
The two women lightened the atmosphere.
The tension eased.
All Might slapped his cheeks lightly. "This is real… really real…"
Nezu closed his eyes, nodding with a small smile.
How old was he again? he wondered.
Naomasa didn't know much about Unohana beyond her reputation as a highly skilled healer, so he wasn't as shocked.
Makoto, however, was completely mesmerized by the scene before her.
Nezu regained his composure and jumped down from his chair.
He walked toward Maki.
Maki saw a small white-furred animal in a suit approaching him.
Slowly.
Their eyes met.
"You must be curious," Nezu began. "Am I a bear? A mouse? Or perhaps a—"
Before he could finish, Maki interrupted in his deep voice.
"You're a dog."
He bent down and picked Nezu up.
His large hands held him by the sides as if lifting a normal pet.
"You're a talking dog."
Everyone froze.
Maki was smiling casually while holding Nezu.
Unohana called out, "Anata! That's not a dog. That's the principal of this school."
Maki looked at her.
Then at the white-furred creature in his hands.
Nezu cleared his throat.
"That's right. It is I—Principal Nezu," he said, slightly raising his paws.
Maki stared at him.
"Then you must be the Lockjaw of this school. Can you teleport? And do you have a high IQ?"
They blinked.
"Who's Lockjaw?" someone muttered.
Nezu tilted his head. "Hmm. What is Lockjaw?"
Maki answered, "A big brown bulldog with a forked antenna."
Nezu nodded thoughtfully. "I would very much like to meet him someday."
Nezu then glanced toward Naomasa in the corner.
Naomasa seemed to understand and nodded slightly.
Nezu turned back to Maki. "A dog that can teleport… how bizarre."
"Yeah," Maki said. "He's as big as a car. And adorable."
Everyone raised an eyebrow.
A bulldog… as big as a car?
Nezu glanced at Naomasa again.
Another nod.
Nezu smiled.
"Do you know why I called you here?"
"Identity verification," Maki answered calmly.
Nezu's smile widened.
"Then this will be much easier."
He gestured toward the seats.
"Let us all sit down first, shall we?"
