But their balance was off. It was hard to move on violently shaking ground.
Ulti felt the same. She transformed into her hybrid form and used her claws to pierce the ground so she would not be swayed by the tremor.
Karin, who had been saved by Yoruichi earlier, was already at the entrance of the chamber. They wanted to pass through the portal, but the shaking was so strong that they felt gravity pressing down on their bodies.

It was like Maki had struck a tectonic plate with his punch.
The teachers inside the UA building felt the tremor. They immediately moved toward the source, which was coming from the Black Ribbon Chamber. Without hesitation, they rushed in. They did not know what had happened, but if it was an enemy attack, they had to be there.

And they could not even see the exact spot where Maki had released his punch.

The sinkhole was around 200 to 400 feet wide. When she looked down, she could not see the bottom. It was dark.
Without hesitation, she jumped in.
She used her Flash Step while falling. After about a minute—which was long even for someone like Yoruichi using Flash Step—she finally saw the bottom.
It was dark. Very dark. But she could still see the surroundings and smell the air.
At the very center of the hole was Maki.
He was sitting in a lotus position, looking up.
He said nothing. He just sat there in peace and silence.
Then suddenly he spoke.
"Hmmm… sniff, sniff… is that you, Catty? You forgot to wash your hands, didn't you? You still smell like lobster."
Maki did not know Yoruichi was in her human form—naked.
