Flint had suspected that Ellen had been favoring Bastian lately because she wanted revenge on him. He laughed awkwardly at Ellen's honest answer, which he had been longing to hear lately. However, on the other hand, he disliked this childish act of revenge, which made him hate Bastian even more today.
