"Good riddance to bad rubbish," Victoria scoffed after Henry and River finally left her home.
It had been so annoying watching them try to convince Angel to leave her. Wasn't that just cruel? Telling a girl to leave her mother?
She glanced back at her daughter, who was tapping on her phone, probably playing games or something.
The drive back to Victoria's home, which used to be her matrimonial home, had been filled with one-sided conversation.
Victoria had chattered nonstop trying to get her daughter to listen to her case. "You see, darling, your father has always been so cold and distant. I tried for years to make it work, but he pushed me away. Now that you're finally coming to your senses and choosing me, things will be different. We'll be a real family again."
