The knight came back minutes later with Luna's glass of water, without opening the door fully. He stretched his hand through the gap and gave Luna the cup of water. She sighed at the treatment. Just a moment ago in her life she had been a free bird, even though she was bullied by the lot. Now she was not only being harassed by the king's knight but treated like a prisoner.
She took the water from the knight. When she heard the door snap shut with a loud bang, she turned toward the table where the ink bottle stood. She poured a little water into it and hoped it would work.
Taking the ink and the parchment that lay on the desk, Luna used them to write. Luckily, the ink came back to life. When she finished writing, she folded the note and took it back to the bird, who had been waiting all this time.
