Jane Sterling smiled. Mrs. Wyatt nodded and headed into the back kitchen.
Jane Sterling toyed absently with her silverware.
She did remember Mrs. Wyatt saying she had found a job at an orphanage.
'So that job was here?'
After finally getting all the children back to their dorms and settled in for the night, Jane Sterling rubbed her aching limbs.
'It was only her first day on the job, but she felt as if she'd been completely drained of energy. This whole teaching and nurturing thing was absolutely brutal.'
However, as dusk settled, Jane Sterling glanced around. Seeing that no one was paying attention, she quietly slipped down from the dormitory building and went to the entrance of the cafeteria.
Sure enough, Mrs. Wyatt was waiting for her around the corner of the cafeteria.
"Over here, over here..."
Mrs. Wyatt gestured discreetly, beckoning Jane Sterling to her side.
Jane Sterling scanned the area. Seeing no one, she quickly darted to Mrs. Wyatt's side.
