"We could plant some fruit trees in the backyard and build a children's play area underneath. Later on, we can sit here and watch the kids play and run around." Gu Wenheng stared at Jin Qianqian, his tone filled with anticipation.
Jin Qianqian lowered her head, pressing her lips together in a smile. "It's way too early to be thinking about that. Hurry up and clear the land!"
Gu Wenheng suddenly felt a surge of motivation. The small saplings next to him, however, weren't so lucky. With a few swift slashes of his machete, they were destined to soon become fertilizer for the earth.
Jin Qianqian curiously looked at a piece of rotten floorboard on the ground. Everywhere else was overgrown with weeds—why was this spot bare?
She nudged it with her foot. The rotten wooden board suddenly gave way and vanished, startling Jin Qianqian into a sharp cry.
"What's wrong?" Gu Wenheng immediately rushed to her side, looking around defensively.
