Faye Vaughn pushed herself up, her lips curling into a mocking smile that mimicked his. "So I can't sleep without a man beside me. So what? I'm low-class, but it's not like you're just finding that out today. You've already called me all those things before."
Liam Linden pressed his lips together tightly.
'He had insulted her with harsh words, but it was only to push her away, to make her keep her distance.'
"Is that how despicable I am in your eyes, right?" Faye Vaughn sat up, clutching the blanket to herself. Her eyes were rimmed with red as she stared at him. "You think asking you to sleep in the same bed means I'm planning to do something? Well, go on. Tell me, what do you think I want to do to you?"
Liam Linden was taken aback by her question.
'Of course, she wouldn't do anything to him…'
'She doesn't even like him.'
'All this time, she's only ever pitied him.'
