Varney planned to stay unnoticed, graduate and leave without getting into any trouble. 

But can that be possible when he not only unexpectedly crosses paths with the daunting, alpha male lead but also ends up having to share a room with him? Worse, the male lead’s reputation is dark as night and even the strongest students here in Hillstone are wary of him.

It was none of my concern but I was glad he wasn't here now. It allowed me time to move around fast and get ready. I'd have liked to stall around while overthinking but I didn't want to annoy Knox further by keeping him waiting unknowingly. I ended up changing my outfit, to one there still just as tattered, but clean.


After that, I let out a deep sigh as I looked myself over. It was cold as hell outside tonight and my thin clothes won't help me at all out there.


My eyes fell on Kade's jacket and I picked it up, slipping it on. He was kind enough to lend this to me this afternoon and I wasn't supposed to wear it at all until I return it tomorrow, but since it's in my care and I don't wanna freeze to death, it's just best I borrow it once again, right?
