BWDC:SDDK Chapter 137: Sherry's Replacement
"It seems Miyano Akemi is already prepared to make her move."
"Big Brother, how should we handle it when the time comes?"
That classic vintage car, the Porsche 356A, was parked on a street somewhere in Tokyo. Inside the car, a man dressed in black, wearing sunglasses and possessing a slightly stout build, was questioning the person in the back seat.
The man in the rear had long silver hair and deep green eyes. He wore a black trench coat and a matching black hat. Currently, he was leaning back against the seat, observing something unknown. After a moment, he spoke.
"Dispose of her, of course," he said calmly.
He spoke as if he weren't deciding the fate of a living human being, but rather tossing out a piece of roadside trash.
If Conan were here, he would undoubtedly recognize this duo in the vintage car at a single glance—the high-ranking members of the Black Organization, Gin and Vodka.
In the past, Gin and Vodka had frequently operated within Tokyo. It was by accidentally stumbling upon one of their deals that Conan was struck from behind by Gin and force-fed the drug, causing him to evolve from Kudo Shinichi into the "Death God" elementary student.
However, due to his busy schedule, Gin didn't actually spend much time in Tokyo. He had only come this time specifically to tie up the loose ends regarding Miyano Akemi.
That said, Gin's purpose in Tokyo wasn't solely to deal with Miyano Akemi; he was also there to keep an eye on Pisco, an old-timer whose arrogance had been getting on his nerves lately.
The man Pisco was responsible for contacting, a fellow named Nomiguchi Shigehiko, was fast outliving his usefulness to the Organization. When the time came, Pisco would inevitably have to dispose of that nuisance. If he made even the slightest blunder during the operation... that would be Gin's chance to make the old man pay the price.
Gin wouldn't mind putting a hole in the old man's forehead at all.
"Boss, why do you think even Vermouth came back for this operation?"
"I really don't get it. Just to deal with Nomiguchi Shigehiko, or at most Pisco, it shouldn't be enough to warrant Vermouth making a special trip to Tokyo, right? Does she have some other motive?"
Vodka, in the driver's seat, was filled with doubt.
However, before he could finish his sentence, Gin had already pressed his favorite Beretta against the back of Vodka's head. He spoke with a chilling tone.
"Don't ask what you shouldn't ask."
"Your only job is to investigate the identities of the people working with Miyano Akemi. Once she gets her hands on the billion yen, make sure it's easy for me to kill them all."
Feeling the cold touch of the muzzle, Vodka couldn't help but swallow hard and nod repeatedly.
Seeing that Vodka had gone silent, Gin finally sat back in his original position, content with the peace. He fixed his gaze on the pharmaceutical company used as a front, as if his eyes could pierce through the walls.
It was as if he could see Miyano Shiho currently in the laboratory, directing other researchers in their drug studies.
"Hmph, Sherry..." he whispered.
If Miyano Akemi was disposed of, Sherry's turn wouldn't be far behind. However, "That Person" had already found a replacement to develop APTX-4869, someone much easier to control.
Hmph. He really didn't see the point in continuing the development of such a poison.
--- Still, Tokyo seems a bit restless lately.
Before coming to Tokyo, Gin had already looked into the current situation in the city. Two heavyweight figures—both in Tokyo and internationally—had been taken down and handed over to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The Public Security Bureau seemed to believe it was the work of Bat, a codenamed assassin from a mysterious rival organization.
However, in Gin's view, the assassins from the Animal Organization wouldn't do something so pointless. Those guys only moved when they intended to take a life; they didn't have a habit of sparing people they could easily kill...
Except for that codenamed assassin, Spider, whom Gin had encountered once and who had a peculiar fondness for "playing" with his targets.
"In the end, it's only at that level," Gin evaluated.
Whether the perpetrator was a member of the Animal Organization or not, he didn't care. Either way, they wouldn't be able to interfere with his plans. The Public Security Bureau wouldn't stumble onto him just by investigating a spider.
If that "Bat" was foolish enough to investigate the whereabouts of the billion yen after Miyano Akemi's robbery, then he would simply dispose of this so-called Bat along the way.
It would only cost a few extra bullets.

"What 'Bat'?"
The "Great Leader" of the mysterious Animal Organization was bewildered.
Wasn't Bat dead a long time ago? Where did another Bat spring up from in Tokyo? And why was he acting like a pro-bono vigilante? How could they suspect our organization for this? Is it because we leave too few traces that they've misjudged the situation?
Looking at the message sent by Snake from Tokyo on the computer screen, the Leader paused for a moment, thinking back to the report from Spider, who had fled Tokyo overnight.
--- There was a guy in a Batman cosplay helping Kaito Kid against the organization.
Furthermore, that lunatic dressed as Batman was incredibly difficult to deal with; even Spider's illusions had no effect on him. Perhaps the person the Public Security Bureau was actually looking for was that Batman-loving freak who attacked Spider.
However, the mysterious organization had no way to clarify this point.
It wasn't as if they could post a notice on an official website saying, "The Mysterious Organization declares that this matter has nothing to do with us." They were an organization of assassins seeking the Pandora Gem, not a terrorist group. They didn't even have a website.
Even if they sent another codenamed assassin to explain the situation to the police, the authorities would likely just think they were lying and intensify their investigation into the organization.
In that case...
"Ignore him."
"Just an enthusiast. What kind of waves can he possibly make? If the police can't even track our deployments, how could a lone wolf working with Kaito Kid do it?"
"Ultimately, it's just a blind cat bumping into a dead rat. He just happened to run into Spider's attempt to assassinate Kaito Kid."
The Leader replied:
"Since Spider has already left Tokyo, Snake, you will now take full responsibility and command of the operation to assassinate Kaito Kid. I hope you can ensure this second-generation Kaito Kid stays dead for good. Don't let him be resurrected for a third generation!"
Receiving the clear order, Snake's heart jolted with excitement.
Excellent! Kaito Kid's doomsday is finally here!
