Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: Sorry, but this kind of Law…

Asgard.

This place had already become a wasteland of ruins.

The broken remnants that were barely left standing were completely erased by the shockwaves of the two combatants trading blows.

These were Asgardian structures—buildings forged and reinforced with magic. Their sturdiness was something Earth's architecture couldn't even begin to compare to.

But now…

Even these overwhelmingly sturdy buildings were being annihilated, smashed into dust until nothing remained.

That alone showed just how ferocious the battle between Karl and Hela truly was.

Hela's mind shook as well.

Just now, she had activated Asgard's divine power.

This was the nearly inexhaustible force of Asgard itself—power so vast it might as well be infinite.

No matter how depleted the world was, no matter what scraps remained at the bottom, in front of that tyrannical might, forget "magic."

Any kind of power would be pulverized by those terrifying energy tides.

And yet…

That brat Karl was still able to use magic—space magic, no less, the kind with an absurdly high difficulty threshold.

What kind of monster was this?

Her talent was far too terrifying.

She had waged war across the cosmos for so many years, and she had never seen someone with such outrageous aptitude.

How could Midgard's humans produce an existence with talent like this?

Hela wasn't just shocked—she was deeply confused.

It made no sense. It didn't fit. It wasn't consistent.

Hela's expression turned extremely ugly.

But…

As an Asgardian, she would never retreat.

Even if it meant death, she would still fight.

What's more, right now…

She wasn't at the end of the road yet.

On Asgard, she was invincible. That was confidence honed over countless years.

"For Earth's barren magical arts to produce someone like you…"

"That's truly unbelievable."

"Even in Asgard, someone with this level of magical attainment is rare."

"If you submit to me and become my vassal, then when I rule the universe, I can grant you a vast territory."

Hela spoke calmly.

Hearing that, Karl burst into laughter.

"Hela, have you lost your mind?"

"You think that's possible?!"

"We sorcerers of Kamar-Taj have never had 'surrender' as an option."

"Whatever you've got, use it."

"That's truly a shame."

"Midgard finally produced a talent like you, and today you'll fall right here."

Hela said coldly.

"Heh."

"The mighty Death Goddess of Asgard—so all you can do is talk big?"

Karl replied indifferently.

"Then die!"

A sliver of green light flared within Hela's eyes.

"Die!"

With that single word, a green beam shot straight at Karl.

This pale green light wasn't the vibrant green of grass and leaves brimming with life.

It was a miserable green.

As if a trace of pitch-black had been mixed into the green itself.

At a glance, it felt bleak and ominous.

The moment Karl saw that green beam, he felt the sensation of death settling onto him like a weight.

It was obviously nothing good.

Karl knew that this kind of annihilating, dark-aspected beam could not be allowed to hit him.

Otherwise, even if he was strong enough, it would still become a huge problem.

Karl swept his hand.

His entire body instantly scattered into green points of light, fluttering across the sky.

Then…

Green butterflies filled this space, dancing everywhere—shockingly beautiful.

"Heh."

"The same trick, and you want to use it in front of me twice?"

"You're dead for sure!"

As she spoke, that miserable green light began to leap wildly through the surroundings.

Each time it pulsed, the glow would flicker across those pale green butterflies.

In Hela's eyes, a strange, excited light shimmered.

She was the controller of Asgard's path of death.

When Asgard's warriors died, their souls would be claimed by her.

In Asgard, if she wanted someone dead…

It was a matter of a single sentence.

You could evade most attacks.

But…

Her attack was different.

This was at the level of Laws.

Once marked, it was certain death!

Hela's face was full of exhilaration.

This brat was dead for sure.

That was the power of the Law of Death.

If you couldn't withstand it, you died—simple as that.

Hela watched as the green light struck those green butterflies.

But…

To her surprise—

Those green butterflies were not annihilated.

Instead, a black glint flashed across them.

And the Law of Death she had fired… vanished for no reason at all.

"What?!"

Hela's face turned pale with shock.

She threw her hand out again.

Another miserable green beam shot out.

This death ray struck a green butterfly in the blink of an eye.

But—

A black flash.

In an instant, the miserable green ray Hela fired… disappeared again!

"…What?!"

Hela's eyes widened violently, her face filled with disbelief.

The black Night-Sky Sword in her hand dropped straight to the ground.

Puchi.

The blade sank into the earth, and the impact kicked up several cracks.

She had even lost the weapon bound to her very life—showing just how shaken she was.

Unbelieving, she raised her hand again.

Another miserable green beam shot out.

But—

A black flash.

That pale green beam vanished once more.

"What?"

"How is this possible?!"

"The Law of Darkness! It's the Law of Darkness!"

"This brat… he's comprehended the Law of Darkness too?!"

Hela's expression went rigid, as if even her face had gone green with it.

Inside her chest, it was like a hurricane had erupted.

Three Laws! A full three Laws! How was that possible?!

Comprehending two Laws already made someone a peerless freak of nature, a genius the entire universe rarely saw.

But this brat had comprehended three Laws.

And more than that—

Two of them were completely opposite Laws.

They conflicted with each other.

One wrong move…

And the outcome would be his body exploding from the inside out.

Hadn't she seen it?

Even she—Asgard's former number one genius—

could only cultivate a single Law.

The path of Laws was vast and profound.

Ordinary people could spend decades cultivating one path and still make no progress.

Let alone cultivating three Laws.

The key point was—

Karl had not only cultivated multiple Laws, he had cultivated them to a terrifyingly advanced level.

This was not something a normal human could possibly accomplish.

Even those ancient gods from legend, born of heaven and earth, couldn't do this!

What kind of aberration was this brat?

Why could humans possess a gift like this?

This shouldn't be possible.

This was absurd.

This was impossible—

After seeing Karl's true depth, Hela's legs began to tremble instead.

She was shocked beyond words.
