Night falls as the blood moon shines brightly on the islands of Mistiria. On a small island occupied by a village, widely known for its huge fish population, a civilian sneaks out of his house. His grip on the fishing rod he held tightens as he took a huge sigh.
"Ok...ok...this wont take long....i just...wanna...catch it..."
His body shakes aggressively as he reaches the wooden fishing bridge which was accompanied by common fishing boats and a conveniently built mini shop besides it.
With no time spent he immediately reached a boat and threw his fishing rod in it, untying the rope keeping the boat held. He made care to not make too much noise as he got on the boat.
He grabbed the paddle resting on the boat as he looked around nervously as the light of the blood moon shines brightly on him.
"This wont take long...right?" He murmurs to himself as he begins rowing the boat further into the sea but not too far from the island.
Satisfied with his spot he left the paddle and went for the fishing rod as he attached bait on it.
He Held the rod back as he used his strength to launch it forward, the fishing line reaching further to the sea as it hit the water, making a slight splash.
He whistles nervously as he looks around, waiting for a catch. Suddenly he hears a barely audible scream from above him, causing him to look up as he sees 3 figures falling as the screams become louder and clearer. Confusion runs through his face.
"What the...."
The figures drop into the river next to the boat, creating a huge splash which caused the pressure of the water to carry the boat backwards. He tries his best to hold on to the boat, but unfortunately the pressure of the water caused the boat to flip with him into the water.
The sound of the splash alerted some creatures from afar that were resting on some trees. Their grins widened as wings sprouted from their back, getting ready to descend towards the source of the sound.
Meanwhile the figures who fell into the water sprout their head back out, revealing me and the two goddesses.
"Ugh...that was rough," i speak to myself as i wipe the water off my face, trying to clear my vision to have a better look of the scene. Suddenly i feel some hands violently grabbing my neck, shaking me violently.
"You idiot! Look at what you did, that's another sin you committed. Yep you now have another reason to go to hell!
"I...i apologize! So please....stop..."
I grab her arms as i try to stop her but she increased his speed which almost made me pass out.
"Hey Kitsune help me drown him....Kistune?."
Without any response from her sister she immediately lets go of me and looks around for her. "Hey moron have you seen Kitsune."
"You mean the sleepy one...i don't know."
I shrug as i hear some bubbles under the water beside me, attracting to attention to it. The cold water covers my whole hand as i put it deep into the source of the bubble.
"Oh what's this?" I say as i suddenly feel some fingers underneath the water. The fingers immediately intertwine with mine aggressively.
In my reaction i forcefully pull them up, Kitsune emerging from the water as Mitsune's eyes widen slightly. "Kitsune!""
"C-cold,"
She barely murmurs as she regains her consciousness while i still cling to her hand, her body half into the water. Realizing she was in the water she rushes to cling to me tightly as she breaths heavily.
"I....i am not good at swimming," she nervously says as a small yawn escapes her mouth.
"Well i see...but thats not my prob..."
"Carry her on your back, its the least you could do for putting us in this situation."
Mitsune catch me off mid-sentence, which irritated me. Before i could talk back to her, Kitsune shivered against me, bringing a small sense of concern to me.
"F-fine..." I agree to her as Kitsune positions herself as she gets behind me and wraps her arms around my neck tightly, causing me to have a problem with breathing as my arms twich.
"I-i c-cant b-breath..."
Hearing me she quickly lossens her hands as i inhale to exhale at a rapid speed before i black out.
"My apologies."
Suddenly they a mischievous laughter as it grows louder, leavibg them in confusion. "What is that coming from?"
My voice becomes quiter as i look around forvthe source. Kitsune's eyes widen as she looks to her left." Moving boat..thats odd,"
Our eyes dart to her direction as a turned over boat approaches us at a rapid speed, causing me and Mitsune to scream in a mixer of terror and confusion.
Without any chance to react hands appear as the boat rises and catches us, creating a huge splash.
My vision becomes pitch black as i move my hands around, trying to figure out what's going on. My hands land on a rough, woody texture, the texture feeling familiar as a switch on my mind turned. We are under a boat! Or... we are in a boat but not really, more like a boat is covering us but whatever you know.
I move my hands once more randomly until i come across someone's face. "Umm..that's my face."
"Oh sorry..your voice sure is weird."
"Thats not me idiot!"
"Shhhh...,if we keep making noise we are dead."
A quiet deep voice assures us, until the laughter that was once heard becomes clearer as something roughly lands on top of the boat, creating a small crack which let some light in but barely.
Suddenly some snoring occurs behind me, creating enough noise for the unknown specimen outside to peek its eye inside the crack. Its eyes twitching as they light up, the red light from its eyes filling up the place.
Upon inspection i find a short bearded man, his eyes widened as she stares at the eyes illuminating the place.
"We are dead..."
The eyes move away from a crack as a hand smashes through the crack, creating a hole as its hand grabs the side of the hole and pulls the boat up towards the sky
"Now...now...now...what do we have here."
The creature's voice was oddly unnerving as it eyes dark round wildly, inspecting us one by one. The creature's skin was a clear dark red, wings flapping on its back as its sharp claws menachingly rest on its sides.
"P-pls spare us for this long night!"
The unknown man's voice rose in fear as the creature's eyes widened at the sight of Mistune and Kitsune.
"Its one of them..."
Kitsune murmurs as the creature's wings rise from up, launching itself high above the water.
"Now this is interesting...." the mysterious creature says as it flys back to where it came. "Uh what was that?"
I ask as my eyes stay widened. "Something felt...not normal about that creature."
"Ill explain...but now we have to find a shelter before more of them think of arriving here."
Mitsune says as she looks around until she finds a wodden bridge.
"I have a place, if you would like to follow me."
The man we didn't have a clue of who he is says as she swims towards the wooden fish bridge. We look at each other, contemplating to follow him.
"Should we trust him?"
I ask Kitsune who gives me a shrug as she looks at the man.
"We don't have a choice do we now."
A few minutes later.....
"My name is June by the way...Sir June. The man addresses himself as he opens the door to his reletively basic house, letting us in.
"Ugh iam soaking wet," i say as i wipe some water off my face.
"We all are...theres no point in making a fuss about it."
Mitsune assures as i examine her, her wet clothes bare revealing her boobs. She kicks my foot as she realizes my gaze, forcing me to cling to my hurt foot in pain.
" Your perviness appals me."
"Why you little piece of..."
"Pls...thats not a way to behave around someone's home.
Kitsune addresses us as she squizzes off water from her hair. The man known as June chuckles nervously as he nods.
"Pls do...my family is sleeping, lets find a place for you to rest." He leads us towards sitting which was so basic that it had one couch facing a fireplace, which had a large matt separting them.
"Pls take your seats...sorry we dont have much." He says as she brings three wooden chairs for us to seat on.
He takes a seat on the couch as we take our seats on the chairs. "So...what was that we just saw out there.?
I decided to ask the question that refused to leave my mind, causing everyone to lock their eyes on me sternly, Mitsune deciding to tell me.
"You see...that was a demon...."
