Kade turned his attention toward him.
"Casualties?"
"None confirmed among the villagers. Three Shadow Guards sustained minor injuries while securing the eastern section, but they're stable."
Kade gave a brief nod.
"Take them back."
"Yes, Royal Alpha."
The guard hesitated for a moment before continuing.
"We've also found something."
Kade's gaze sharpened.
"Where?"
"The old meeting hall at the northern end of the village. There are several people inside who weren't affected by the mist."
Alpha Kael immediately looked toward Kade.
"How?"
The guard shook his head.
"We don't know. They appear to have been prepared for something like this. The windows were sealed, and there were several protective markings around the building."
Kade's expression remained unchanged, but something in his eyes hardened.
"Bring them out."
"Alive?"
Kade looked at him.
"Obviously."
The guard bowed and disappeared.
Alpha Kael waited until the man was out of hearing before speaking.
