Alpha Kael's family remained particularly quiet. His parents had listened to the entire conversation without interrupting, and although they had witnessed the Royal Alpha's authority many times before, there was something about the calmness with which Kade had ordered the operation in Blackwood Village that left them unsettled.
One of Kael's siblings finally lowered his gaze toward the table.
"Are they really going to use the mist on the entire village?"
Dimitri's expression remained unreadable.
"If Kade gave the order, it will be done."
The young man heavily swallowed.
"They could have simply sent more guards."
"They already tried that."
Dimitri's eyes hardened slightly.
"The villagers attacked them and drove them out. Kade has no reason to send more men into the same situation."
