Ringgggggggg…
The sudden sound of a phone ringing sliced through the quiet room.
Yoongi stopped.
He turned slightly, his long hair falling across his eyes as he reached into his pocket.
I quietly let out the breath I had been holding.
Why was I even holding my breath?
He glanced at the screen, then answered.
"Hello?"
His voice dropped lower, calm and serious. He listened for a moment, nodding slowly.
"…Alright."
He ended the call and slipped the phone back into his pocket.
Then he looked at me again.
For a moment, neither of us spoke.
"Thank you," he finally said, his tone softer now. "I should be leaving."
I nodded casually.
"Okay."
He walked toward the door.
I followed behind him, arms crossed, watching him like I was escorting a suspicious criminal out of my house.
Just as he reached the door, he suddenly turned and placed his hand against it, stopping it from opening.
My brows lifted.
"Be my...."
He didn't finish.
Before he could say another word, I shoved him outside.
THUD.
He stumbled a step onto the porch.
I burst into laughter and slammed the door.
"Good night!"
I leaned against the door, still laughing to myself.
That guy seriously thinks he can stand there and say something cool before leaving.
Idiot.
But outside…
Yoongi stood quietly on the porch.
For a moment he stared at the closed door.
Then slowly… a small smile curved on his lips.
"Good night… Sucy."
*********
"Minju… time for school."Her mother's voice came through the door.
Minju instantly pulled the blanket over her head.
"I'm sick!"
The door handle turned immediately.
"What?"
Her mom stepped inside.
Minju lay under the duvet dramatically, pretending to be weak.
Her forehead was slightly sweaty.
Her mom walked closer and touched her forehead.
"You feel warm… okay. I'll tell him you skipped school today. I'll stay home with you."
Minju's eyes shot open under the blanket.
"No!!!"
Her mom blinked.
Minju quickly coughed awkwardly.
"I mean… uh… Sucy is coming over later. And you have work… you shouldn't worry about me."
Her voice trembled slightly.
Her mom studied her suspiciously.
"…Oh. Okay."
She leaned down and kissed Minju's forehead.
"Rest."
Then she left the room.
Minju slowly sat up.
She crept to the door and opened it slightly.
Her mom was walking toward the front door.
Just as Minju relaxed
The door suddenly opened again.
"Minju...."
Minju instantly jumped back into bed and pretended to sleep.
Her mom stared for a moment… then sighed and left.
A minute later the sound of a car engine faded away.
Minju peeked out the window.
Her mom's car drove down the street.
A huge grin spread across her face.
"Freedom!"
She jumped up, changed into casual clothes in seconds, grabbed her bag and ran outside.
And there
Jimin was standing at the gate.
Leaning casually like he had been waiting for a while.
The moment he saw her, he smiled.
That soft, warm smile.
Minju's heart skipped.
She ran toward him and grabbed his hand.
"You're such a liar," he laughed.
She just smiled wider.
They started walking down the street together.
The morning air was cool and fresh.
After a few minutes, they stopped at a small ramen shop.
The warm smell of broth and kimchi drifted through the air.
Jimin pushed the door open.
"This place has the best ramen in Seoul," he said proudly. "And the kimchi is famous too."
Minju tilted her head.
"Better than yours?"
Jimin gasped dramatically.
"Hey. Mine is legendary."
She laughed.
They sat down and grabbed two cups of instant ramen.
Jimin poured the hot water carefully.
Steam rose between them.
"Careful," he said softly.
Minju watched him quietly.
Why is he always like this…
After a moment he looked at her.
"You didn't eat last night," he said.
. ."hm.."
He pushed the ramen cup toward her.
. .. "So today I'm making up for it. Eat until you're full."
Minju smiled.
. "Idiot…"
But her voice was soft.
Jimin suddenly picked up the chopsticks and added kimchi into her ramen.
Then..
He took the ramen cup from her.
Minju gasped.
"Yah!!!"
