Chapter 161 - Chapter 161 Chapter 161 Kakashi made a decision

In Uzumaki Village, Naruto was slightly surprised when he saw the Flying Thunder God Kunai and the sealing scroll on the table.

It had only been a week, and Kakashi had already learned the Flying Thunder God Jutsu. He truly deserved to be called a genius who became a Jōnin at the age of 12—his learning ability was absolutely top-tier.

In comparison, Naruto clicked his tongue inwardly. His own learning ability was much worse… without cheat-like "plug-ins," he wouldn't even be able to touch the Kage level, let alone surpass it.

After unlocking the seal on the scroll, Naruto glanced through it briefly, and an almost imperceptible smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

The greetings at the beginning were all nonsense—just polite words. He and Kakashi were, at best, friends. There was no way they had that kind of deep emotional bond.

The real meat was in the last few lines—those few sentences carried a terrifying amount of information.

Kakashi had actually teamed up with Jiraiya to change the current situation of Konoha.

Naruto couldn't help but feel amused. It seemed that the "casual advice" he had thrown out earlier had really hit harder than expected, pushing both Kakashi and Jiraiya toward opposing the Third Hokage and Danzo.

Still… that wasn't a bad thing.

If Konoha started a revolution, it would only make things more interesting.

After all, sooner or later, he would return to the Land of Fire.

Uzumaki Village and the Land of Waves were simply too small. At best, they could only grow into regional powers with limited influence.

The Land of Fire, on the other hand—that was the true center of the entire ninja world.

After reading the contents of the scroll, Naruto didn't forget to share it with Minato.

After going through everything, Minato's expression shifted repeatedly before he finally sighed:

"I didn't expect that even Jiraiya-sensei and Kakashi have begun opposing the Third Hokage… The Third Hokage is still too nostalgic. He's unwilling to deal with Danzo."

Naruto snorted coldly.

"This isn't nostalgia. The old man simply can't let go of Danzo."

He spoke with undisguised disdain:

"After the Uchiha incident, the Hokage Office had to deal with internal pressure from both the middle and lower ranks. Danzo's Root became the perfect scapegoat. He's the only blade the Third Hokage can still control."

"After all, aside from Danzo, the other powerful jōnin are all backed by clans and factions. The Third Hokage is just clinging to power and unwilling to let the Sarutobi clan step down."

Minato looked at Naruto, trying to explain:

"The Third Hokage isn't that narrow-minded. He loves the village more than anyone. He also believes deeply in the Will of Fire. He just… doesn't want to abandon comrades who made mistakes."

Naruto stared at him and replied coldly:

"And because of that 'love,' Konoha's future is slowly burning to ashes."

"If he had dealt with Danzo's mistakes early on, things wouldn't have reached this point. His stubbornness is exactly why both Tsunade and Jiraiya gave up on him."

Minato glanced at his own son and fell silent.

As the former Fourth Hokage, he had to admit… in terms of "talk-no-jutsu," he had completely lost.

After the argument, Naruto's expression relaxed slightly. Then he smiled:

"Fourth Hokage-sama, I'm going to reply to Kakashi. Do you have anything you want to say? Imagine a dead teacher suddenly replying to his student… that'll be hilarious."

Minato, who had always opposed the dead interfering with the ninja world, remained silent.

After a long pause… he finally nodded.

He had always believed the dead shouldn't interfere.

But now… he realized he had already interfered.

So why keep lying to himself?

Even if he had been dead for years, he still wanted to protect the people he cared about.

Naruto nodded, then added Minato's dictated message into the letter before activating the Flying Thunder God Jutsu and sending it toward distant Konoha.

...

After a short while, Kakashi—who had been feeling restless—received the reply.

The moment he saw it, he couldn't wait to open it.

The contents were simple.

It mainly described how to launch a public opinion attack—spreading rumors to discredit Danzo.

The "method" itself was ridiculously straightforward:

Just expose everything Danzo had ever done.

That alone would be enough to bury him.

And once Danzo fell, the Third Hokage would naturally be dragged down as well.

Kakashi frowned slightly.

This method… was a bit too ruthless.

The Third Hokage had devoted his entire life to the village. Even if he wasn't perfect, treating him like this…

Jiraiya probably wouldn't agree either.

But at the same time…

This approach reminded Kakashi of his father—Sakumo Hatake, the White Fang of Konoha.

His father had abandoned a mission to save his teammates.

For that, he was vilified… accused… crushed by public opinion.

And eventually, he took his own life.

According to Kakashi's investigation, abandoning that mission did cause serious losses to the village.

But that mission was classified.

So how did the information leak and spread to everyone?

That question… was suspicious as hell.

If the higher-ups could use public opinion to kill his father…

Then using the same method against them now—

Well, fair's fair.

Everyone was just eliminating "dissenters" under the banner of Konoha anyway.

After reading further, Naruto mentioned the Ino–Shika–Chō clan and the Hyūga clan.

If they wanted to confront the Hokage's authority, they needed to unite these forces.

Together, they were strong enough to pressure the Third Hokage and Danzo into making concessions.

These sharp and aggressive ideas made Kakashi feel a chill.

He suddenly felt relieved that Naruto had left the village.

If Naruto had stayed…

Then even Kakashi—who already wanted to deal with Danzo—would probably look like a conservative in comparison.

Naruto clearly had no interest in playing these political "ninja games."

He wanted to build something entirely different.

After reaching the final paragraph, Kakashi froze.

His expression turned dazed.

The tone… wasn't Naruto's.

It was gentle. Calm. Warm.

Exactly like Minato-sensei.

Only Minato could speak like that.

Kakashi's heart skipped a beat.

"…Is Minato-sensei… not dead?"

If that were true, then there would be no need for Jiraiya to become the Fifth Hokage.

Minato alone could restore Konoha.

Under his leadership, the village wouldn't be this rotten mess of schemes and shadows.

For a moment, hope flickered in Kakashi's heart—

Then he crushed it.

Impossible.

He had personally witnessed Minato's funeral.

There was no sign of the body being tampered with.

The only explanation…

Was that Minato had left chakra inside Naruto.

That must be it.

Which also explained why Naruto had been such a terrifying monster since childhood.

Maybe… these ideas were Minato's all along.

Maybe even Minato had been disappointed in Konoha.

Just as Kakashi was lost in thought—

He didn't notice that an extra figure had appeared outside the window.

That figure…

Was none other than Obito Uchiha.

He glanced at Kakashi, who was deep in contemplation, then at the Flying Thunder God Kunai nearby.

As if confirming something.

After staring at Kakashi for a long moment—

Obito silently stepped into a swirling vortex…

…and disappeared into the depths of Konoha.
