The bridge was a chaotic theater of sparks and blood. Talon's face, usually a mask of Noxian indifference, twitched with genuine shock. His wrist blades, forged from the finest steel of the empire, felt like they were striking an enchanted mountain. Unbreakable Will had turned Chen's skin into an impenetrable fortress.
However, the Throat Cut had done its work. For one agonizing second, Chen was silenced—his connection to the runes severed, his lips pressed tight in a forced hush.
Talon didn't waste that second. He was a predator who thrived on the smallest openings. With a flick of his wrist, a volley of blades hissed from his sleeves. Chen sidestepped the initial flight, but the blades didn't fall; they hummed, spinning in mid-air and snapping back toward Talon's hand. Chen rolled, the wind of the blades whistling past his ear, but one caught his right arm, carving a deep, jagged line through his sleeve and flesh.
Talon lunged, his movements a blur of Noxian Diplomacy. He closed the distance and delivered a savage slash that bit into Chen's shoulder.
Debuff Active: Blade's End (3 Stacks).
The wounds began to pulse with a rhythmic, tearing agony. Talon's passive triggered, and the massive internal damage threatened to shred Chen from the inside out. Had it not been for the damage reduction of his ultimate, Chen would have collapsed right there.
The Tide of Battle
The silence finally broke. Chen let out a guttural roar, his battle-axe glowing with a desperate light.
"DECIMATE!"
The axe spun in a wide, punishing circle. The edge caught Talon across the chest, and as the blade bit in, a wave of green energy surged back into Chen. His arm wound closed, and the strength returned to his grip.
Talon staggered back, his eyes narrowing. "That spin... that healing... are you a disciple of the Hand of Noxus?"
Chen didn't answer. He didn't have time for a history lesson. He slammed his lamppost into Talon's side, the Grasp of the Undying proc-ing with a hollow thump. At his feet, the Conqueror icon flared a bright gold—he was fully stacked. Every hit now fueled his own survival.
But Chen was counting the heartbeats. He had only seven seconds of Unbreakable Will. Once the shields faded, Talon would disassemble him.
Suddenly, a gout of emerald fire erupted from behind Talon. Urgot, though broken and bleeding, had dragged his massive chassis forward on his mechanical legs. He couldn't lift his arms, but his leg-mounted Alchemical Inferno was still functional. The chemical fire washed over Talon's back, melting the Noxian's cloak and searing his skin with corrosive heat.
Talon shrieked—a rare, raw sound of pain. Pinched between Chen's relentless axe and Urgot's fire, the assassin realized the contract was no longer worth the cost. He sprinted toward the bridge railing, performed a fluid vault, and plunged into the dark river below to extinguish the flames.
The Demolitionist Arrives
"Quickly! Get Urgot to the Sanctuary!" Chen shouted to the remaining followers. "Janna can knit him back together! Move!"
But the damage was done. The distraction of the assassination had allowed the Piltover Guard to breach the sandbag wall. Blue Hextech bolts were now whistling through the gap at chest height. Chen felt the front line buckling.
Clink. Clink. Clink.
A series of small, round objects bounced past Chen's feet and into the charging Enforcers.
BOOM.
The explosion sent three soldiers over the side of the bridge. Chen looked at his HUD—the synergies had just shifted.
SYNERGY ADDED: Geek (3), Black Mage (1), Yordle (1).
Ziggs had arrived.
"Ziggs! Cover me! We're taking the bridge back!" Chen yelled into the smoke.
"Faster, faster, faster! Ha-ha! Look at the big one go!" a high-pitched, manic voice cackled from behind a pile of rubble.
A bomb the size of a small house sailed through the air in a high arc. Chen, who had been mid-charge, skidded to a halt and dove for cover.
"MEGA INFERNO BOMB!"
The impact was a blinding white flash followed by a towering mushroom cloud. When the smoke cleared, the middle of the bridge was a graveyard of scorched blue uniforms. Only the stone—the ancient Ixtal bedrock—remained, stubbornly intact.
"What kind of rock is this?!" Ziggs squeaked, popping his head over a sandbag. "It won't break? Fine! We do it the old-fashioned way!"
Ziggs scurried forward, tossing a minefield of Hexplosive Mines to keep the reinforcements at bay, while he began planting a Satchel Charge at the bridge's structural weak point.
High above, a shadow blotted out the moon. The Zeppelin had arrived, its massive searchlights pinning Chen and Ziggs to the bridge like insects under a microscope. Hextech fire began to rain down from the gondola.
"Hurry!" Chen screamed, spinning his lamppost into a defensive dome. "I can only hold this for two seconds! Plant the charge!"
