Chapter 71 - FRAGILE HEART

AKAME ASSASINATION (7)

People in the world are imperfect by nature, they exist not for others but for their own selfish desires. Justine Slate was one of these people. A man filled with nothing but human desires who lived for no one else but himself.

Justine was born into a relatively nice home, with many things that lots of children around him just didn't have. A T.V in his room, a full belly every time of the day and money lots and lots of money. Their weren't that many things that Justine himself hated, no not at all… well I suppose except one.

 Margret Slate, his own mother.

She did nothing but what his father and the elders told her to do. Wash the car, get me a towel, go to sleep and other things of that exact nature. He hated this, the thought of doing things for other people truly sickened him.

"Have you no self respect for yourself woman?" He would thrash her with a belt, as he was allowed to… well I guess everybody was allowed to. "If you don't want to, then don't do it!"

She wouldn't speak, only a plastic smile hung low on her face, it had been this way since the beginning. Only a smile and nothing more, never a sad, angry, or even troubled face, she always smiled. And not the type of smiled that meant 'I'm going through stuff and but brave this storm.' Rather it was one she wore to endure what she was going through and not to speak up against it.

"Just say something you damned Bitch!" She never headed her sons cries, something any mother should do. That in it of itself was a taboo that no person should ever make.

But I suppose that's all in the past now anyway, Justine himself has forgotten the kind of life he used to live before he was knight under Germain of the Count Saints. He chose to forget about a life prior to that.

Right about now you'll currently find him headed east of the Aquatic blue station needing to find… something anyway.

This part of the station was actually pretty packed, unlike the one that he was originally at.

'You see I ain't a bad guy.' He thought to himself as he looked around, 'Its just that for some reason I get repulsed by the mere sight of women, those ugly creatures should all just shut up and do as is expected of them.'

Anyway the benches on the ground floor were full and their were no suspicious looking people in their… well maybe, he wasn't really paying attention.

"Guess I'll go upstairs." although in his mind all of this was a useless endeavor since no killer in their right mind would stay after they complete a job, especially when the police were minutes late to the crime scene.

"Move it, real man coming through." He pushed his way passed a crowed of people who were just standing by waiting for their release from the station.

"Hey watch it!" Some shouted at him.

 "Are you blind?" Some wondered.

Justine just kept on pushing, 'A bunch of weaklings, I could torture all of them right here and now, make them beg for mercy but I guess that would be too much work for now.'

 SWOOOSH!

"Mh?" He could feel a sudden welling up of energy right in front of him. He concentrated fragment energy into his eyes.

"A cloud of smoke is moving." Justine noticed the cloud as it circulated all around the people within the wing. 'Is this guy an amateur? Why in the world would he plan on condensing this much energy in one place?'

But the cloud also extended deeper down the hallway that was on the second floor, this hallway had less and less people in it, probably because this was a place for staff only. Still with the number of people stuffed in just this one wing you would think that the people I charge would place some of them in this restricted area.

"Stingy ass government…" Justine followed the mist, FE still concentrated in his eyes. Slowly he followed a portion of the smoke cloud as it rounded a corner, he could sniff something, something interesting in the air.

"Cigarette smoke." He mumbled to himself, this indicated that. "The smoke is conjured, from a professional I might add. It took him a few whiffs to realize what kind of smoke it is.

"So… how long have you guys been their?" He asked as he rounded the corner, there he found a cloud of smoke that took the shape of a human being.

 "Seems like a while, huh?"

The soldiers wasted no time in pursuing him. They tried jumping him, getting behind him. But Justine still remained unfazed.

In this world there are two types of abilities, one an individual makes on their own in time and one that is passed down through many generations. Justine's ability was the latter, and he was very cautious when using it. So much so that he decided never to use it unless his life was truly on the line, sadly now is not that time.

Using his legs he attempted to kick one of the soldiers which resulted in his legs passing through the soldiers abdomen.

 BLOCK!

The soldier then attempted to punch Justine in the face but failed miserably as Justine blocked it with his right hand.

'The strength of these puppets aren't anything special, average at best weak at the very least.' He smiled to himself, "That's the kind I like, if everyone was like you guys then my life would be a lot easier."

"Come at me then!" He called out.
