FIRE AND ASH
Selene's POV
The alarm bells were already ringing by the time we made it out of the library.
Wolves ran through the corridors in organized chaos—some heading toward the explosion, others herding civilians away from danger. The acrid smell of smoke filled my nose, making my eyes water.
"Get to the safe house,"
Damon ordered, gripping my shoulders.
"Now."
"No."
I pulled away from him.
"I'm not hiding while your pack is under attack."
"Selene—"
"I can help. My power—the Alpha command—maybe I can—"
Another explosion cut me off. Closer this time. The floor beneath our feet trembled.
Damon swore viciously.
"They're targeting the support columns. They're trying to bring down the entire east wing."
Ronan appeared through the smoke, his face streaked with soot.
"Alpha! We've got multiple breach points. At least fifteen hostiles inside the perimeter, maybe more. And they're not rogues—these are trained soldiers."
"Crescent?"
"Can't confirm yet, but—"
