Rose's Point Of View
I smoothed the front of my oversized cotton t-shirt down over my thighs, the faint scent of my lavender body wash clinging to my skin as steam poured out from the bathroom behind me. I dried my wet hair with a plush white towel, wringing out the ends until my arms felt leaden.
My reflection in the mirror had looked tired, hollow-eyed, like someone who hadn't slept a full night in ages - because I hadn't. Dark half-moons had settled beneath my eyes like bruises, and my cheeks had lost the soft roundness they used to have. I barely recognized the woman staring back at me anymore.
It had been a full week. Seven days since the chaotic hurricane of Seraphina's life had collided with mine, seven days since those three terrifying, drop-dead gorgeous Corvanni CEOs had swept into my living room like an invading army and leveled Diego's men without breaking a single sweat.
