Chapter 177 - The Giant Claydol! A Pokémon from Ancient Times!

A sudden attack while walking peacefully—anyone would be furious.

"Let's go," Ethan said coldly. "Something dared to attack us. I want to see exactly what it is."

He was genuinely irritated.

If not for their Pokémon's quick reactions, they might've ended up as corpses instead of standing here.

Following the direction the light wave had come from, the group quickly advanced.

Before long, they reached a valley—

Just in time to see a troop of Passimian fleeing in panic.

"This should be the place," Ethan muttered. "Even the wild Pokémon are running."

And when they finally reached the edge of the valley—

They froze.

A Monster in the Valley

Deep within the valley, a massive Pokémon was wreaking havoc.

Even from several kilometers away, its enormous body was impossible to miss.

Pitch-black.

Covered in countless eerie eyes.

Marked with strange white patterns.

It hovered in midair, unleashing destructive waves of energy in all directions.

The once peaceful valley was already reduced to ruins.

Ethan frowned.

Totem Peak… only?

With this level of destructive power, calling it God-tier wouldn't feel like an exaggeration.

Beside him, Aurora stared in disbelief.

"This thing… it's enormous."

She had seen large Pokémon before—but nothing like this.

"At this rate, it'll destroy the entire mountain range," Ethan said firmly. "Big or not—we're taking it down."

Something was clearly wrong.

No normal Pokémon would attack everything in sight like this.

Battle Begins

"Metagross—go!"

Ethan immediately gave the command.

Aurora followed up without hesitation.

"Typhlosion, support!"

"Metagross, use Flash Cannon!"

Before even closing the distance, Metagross launched its attack. Light condensed between its limbs—

Then fired.

A brilliant beam shot straight toward the giant Claydol.

The massive Pokémon turned—

And responded with its own energy wave.

BOOM!

The two attacks collided midair, triggering a violent explosion. The shockwave uprooted nearby trees instantly.

Ethan and Aurora shielded their eyes from flying debris.

"Typhlosion, Flamethrower!"

A stream of purple-red flames surged forward—

But just as the fire was about to hit—

A strange, invisible force appeared.

The flames were completely dispersed.

What reached Claydol… was nothing but harmless heat.

The True Scale

Enraged by the attacks, the giant Claydol charged toward them.

And only then did they realize—

They had severely underestimated its size.

They thought it was maybe 7–8 meters tall.

They were wrong.

It was over 20 meters tall.

Its head alone spanned nearly 6–7 meters in diameter.

It felt less like a Pokémon—

And more like a moving monument.

"How can something be this big…?"

Even Dynamax Pokémon didn't feel this overwhelming.

If it weren't moving, it could've easily been mistaken for a massive statue in the center of a city.

Psychic Shock

As it approached, a low, vibrating hum filled the air.

Ethan's vision blurred.

His head spun violently.

Aurora collapsed instantly.

She had no psychic resistance at all.

Ethan quickly checked her condition.

Her breathing was stable.

"She's just unconscious…"

Then he made a decision.

"Typhlosion—get Aurora out of here. I'll handle this."

This Claydol showed no restraint—even attacking trainers directly.

Keeping her here would only put her in more danger.

Typhlosion nodded, lifting Aurora and retreating quickly.

No More Holding Back

Ethan took a deep breath.

Then—

He pulled out two Poké Balls.

"If you don't fight fair," he said coldly, "don't blame me for doing the same."

"Come out—Mewtwo… Yanhuang!"

Two terrifying auras erupted onto the battlefield.

Yanhuang appeared first—

A towering crimson figure, radiating divine pressure.

Even the raging Claydol seemed to hesitate for a split second.

Yanhuang's gaze sharpened.

Then—

He froze.

"…How did you run into this thing?"

Ethan blinked.

"You know it?"

Yanhuang let out a slow breath.

"How could I not?"

A Relic from Ancient Times

Yanhuang's voice turned serious.

"This… is a Pokémon from the ancient era."

"When it was sealed, I was only Champion-tier."

"Now I've reached God-tier… and I still recognize it immediately."

Ethan's eyes narrowed.

"So it's that dangerous?"

Yanhuang nodded.

"Back then, sealing it required—"

Three Totem Peak PokémonTwo God-tier Pokémon

"And even then… it was barely enough."

Ethan's expression darkened.

"…And now it's broken free?"

Yanhuang looked at the raging Claydol.

"And judging by its state—"

"It just escaped… and it's gone completely berserk."

Ethan exhaled slowly.

"So that's what happened…"

No wonder it attacked them from over twenty kilometers away.

The Real Fight Begins

Ethan's gaze hardened.

"Then there's no need to hold back."

"If it's this dangerous—"

"We end it here."
