Shiba just pulled out his rapier and stabbed the man in the heart. He fell to the ground, his eyes wide in disbelief.
The woman fell to the ground, crawling backwards to escape. However, she was stopped by a wall behind her.
Shiba went over to her, kneeling down. "I won't hurt you. Your daughter is safe."
The woman relieved a little before she nodded. Shiba was already at the door, leaving the house. He returned to the cave and told the girl that it was safe now.
"Then... What can I do to thank you?"
"Just a simple thank you. I want to return to the Capital either way at some point..."
"Then I can search for you once I'm old enough and help you with something. What's your name?" The girl asked, her face still full of tears and snot.
"Shiba," he simply answered, looking a little confused. "Why are you asking? Wouldn't you be able to recognize me by my face?"
