Meanwhile, Lynsandra sat beside the bed where Elias lay motionless. A shallow breath escaped her nostrils as she brushed the tip of his hair with her fingertips.
"What a foolish man," she whispered. "Making me worried like this."
During breakfast, Lynsandra hadn't wondered where he might have been. She hadn't thought much about it. He had told her during their first morning alone that he had some matters to deal with.
Obviously, those matters had something to do with the engineered werewolves.
August was experimenting on them, studying each of them to understand how such creatures were even possible. As for Elias, he was the one bringing in new subjects.
It was quite the strange dynamic, and no one even knew how they had ended up in that arrangement. But then again, it was a problem for their kind if this situation continued.
