Kumogakure was astonished: their strongest spearhead was being held back by a single young Jōnin. The Cloud's momentum collapsed into a stalemate.
This was a humiliation for the Third Raikage. His surprise attack on Sunagakure had been repelled by Rasa, and now his sons were being stalled by a "Yellow Flash." Voices of doubt emerged from his Council of Elders.
"Damn it!" The Third Raikage smashed his desk, lightning leaping across his massive frame. "Are they all laughing at me?!"
He would not tolerate this. He needed a victory to re-establish his status. His gaze swept across the map to the Land of Earth.
"Ōnoki, you old fox... your main forces are tied up at the borders of Grass and Wind, aren't they?" A crazy, resolute glint flashed in the Raikage's eyes. "I will personally lead my direct subordinates and launch a surprise attack on the Land of Earth! I'll strike at Iwagakure's lair!"
Meanwhile, the moniker "Yellow Flash" spread like wildfire. Kumogakure issued an unprecedented order: any shinobi encountering the Konoha Yellow Flash could immediately abandon their mission and flee without penalty.
The speed duel had concluded, but the Raikage's fury was about to bring a terrifying new variable to the Land of Earth.
