Chapter 72 - The Call Beyond the Battlefield

We all obeyed his words. Glynpatra was still amazed at how he manifested MKM-999 in such an incomprehensible way.

I immediately looked out the window at a distance on the same side where Hellraider was standing. The head of the Arch-Licoth then turned toward the head of the Graganthurion whose body could not move at all. The monster's mouth opened wide and lava poured out from inside it.

Ohhh nooo... Arch-Licoth would spew that lava liquid onto the head of that robot where the pilot was!

"Sir Hellraider, hurry! If it is too late the soldier inside will be burned alive!" I reflexively shouted.

After the energy sphere became large enough, Hellraider immediately fired it and it hit the head of the Arch-Licot that had begun to spray its lava. Just like what happened in the portal of Planet Grohn before, its body from the head exploded into pieces until nothing remained and successfully freed the robot.

"Sirrr...!!! That Arch-Judgementor has started striking the Graganthurion that is being coiled by that giant serpent...!!!" Glynpatra shouted while looking from the opposite window.

Hellraider immediately moved to the open door on the opposite side and began charging the cannon again. I immediately looked from the same window side. Another robot was also coiled again by Arch-Licoth in a supine position, leaving an open space in its belly. The Arch-Judgementor launched its drill-arm strikes at the robot's belly several times so that part was badly damaged.

Not long after, Hellraider released his shot toward that Arch-Licot again and the monster was instantly destroyed in succession without any remains.

That Graganthurion immediately blocked the Arch-Judgementor's strike and hit back its head hard until it fell. Even though its abdomen was damaged, the robot was still able to stand while picking up its giant weapon and immediately firing continuously at its head until it collapsed and no longer moved.

Before our concern could subside, I saw toward the portal more Arch-Judgementors and Arch-Licoths emerging.

"Baaaddd...!!! This is really bad! I just realized that the continuous appearance of those giant hell monsters is a sign that the Demon King Azkerath will come here...!!!" Mendicore said in panic.

Hearing that word, my body instantly froze, my eyes widened and my mouth gaped...

Not only me, Glynpatra and the others were equally shocked hearing Mendicore's statement.

No... nooo... why is my nightmare really going to happen now?!?!?!

"I'll go down!" said Hellraider firmly.

My body could suddenly move again, reflexively I ran and grabbed Hellraider's forearm. He immediately looked at me.

"Siiirrr... pleaseee...!!! Don't be so rash like thaaat...!!! I don't want anything bad to happen to youuu lateeerrr...!!!" I pleaded while starting to shed tears.

Hellraider immediately faced me. His face looked very annoyed.

"You... want to stop meee...?!?!?! Remembeeerr what I saiiiddd...!!!" he shouted.

Instantly I remembered his words back in the grassland after our meeting with Greslan. I immediately cried sobbing and tightened my grip. I thought my attitude was very childish. But my nightmare kept haunting me and affected my doubt in Hellraider's reputations.

"Punish me nowww...!!! But I won't allow you to fight alone againnn in hell like what that game saaaiiiddd...!!!" I shouted back while crying.

Hellraider fell silent again staring at me while breathing heavily.

"W-What does he mean about 'that game', Mendicore?" Glynpatra whispered.

"I don't quite understand either, Princess. But Johann's mental condition before this disaster happened was indeed unstable. It would be quite long if explained..." Mendicore replied.

Suddenly from above the sky, a bright yellow light appeared. We were shocked again and looked outside.

In the sky there were already many golden portals formed. Then from inside them came shuttle ships that looked familiar to me.

"T-Thaatt is the High Heaven battle fleet…!!!" Glynpatra shouted happily while crying.

I could not believe what I saw. At a critical moment like this, they appeared at the perfect time.

The battle fleet began to emerge from the portals and immediately headed toward us.

They hovered above the group of giant monsters. Beneath their ships there was a sphere that began to generate some kind of golden-yellow energy.

"What will they do to those monsters, Mendicore?" I asked.

"Just watch, Johann... This is why we should be grateful they came to help just in time."

That light immediately shot straight down very quickly to the Arch-Judgementor from its head to its lower body, burning it through and causing it to fall. Not only that, the ship fired a kind of light rope at the Arch-Licoth and its entire body was bound by threads of light. The giant serpent could not move at all and the ship above its head fired the same light weapon at it until it was pierced and died.

"That's their main weapon called the Hammer of Heaven..." Mendicore explained.

Once again I was amazed seeing the Angel Fleet easily defeat those giant monsters. I glanced at Hellraider and he simply observed with his usual expressionless face.

Glynpatra then received a call from her earphone. I guessed the emperor contacted her again regarding the arrival of High Heaven's fleet providing support.

"Father wants us to move behind the defense line now! I will contact Grelmure!"

After she called Grelmure, our aircraft immediately turned back toward the frontline. Several The Graendall ships remained near the High Heaven fleet.

After landing dozens of meters behind the frontline defense, I saw the emperor accompanied by someone I never expected before.

Gruzhnil had also arrived recovered, High Priest Grishal, and... Archangel Geriel. We all got down to meet them. Glynpatra immediately hugged Gruzhnil while crying. I glanced at Mendicore, this was the first time It met Its creator again after being exiled for so long.

"I deeply regret the reappearance of this great tragedy since two thousand years ago. But we managed to arrive in time and there has been no severe damage..." said Geriel.

"Did Your Majesty manage to open a path here by tracking our communication signal?" asked the emperor.

Geriel immediately looked at Mendicore. We all looked at It too. Mendicore remained silent.

"I know It came here with you. I deliberately didn't ask about it when we met before. It is my creation and that's why we could track the portal path here..." Geriel answered.

I was shocked that he truly still monitored Mendicore. Did that mean Geriel had met Sherubiel at the command center?

"Now is not the time to think about that. I came here because there is something more urgent. You see those giant monsters, the same tragedy will happen again, that is the Demon Azkerath will appear on this land." he continued.

"W-Wait Your Majesty... S-Should not His Majesty Marsiel also be present among us???" Grishal asked in confusion.

Geriel glanced again at Mendicore, and we all looked at It again.

"So you didn't tell them, huh! Quite surprising..."

"W-What happened to His Majesty Marsiel, My Lord???" asked the Emperor with a trembling voice.

Geriel took a deep breath while closing his eyes briefly.

"So what actually happened to my brother is..."

Geriel's explanation matched what Mendicore told Mr. Thebes during our visit some time ago. Instantly their expressions turned shocked at Marsiel's fate. Glynpatra even cried again in Gruzhnil's embrace who also looked like he was holding back tears. I only showed a minimal reaction.

"W-What s-should we do Y-Your Majesty if A-Archangel M-Marsiel is now in that condition???" Gruzhnil said stammering.

Geriel then looked at one of us.

"This is my main purpose here. Marsiel wants him to meet him directly in High Heaven right now..."

All of us including me turned to the person he meant...

None other than Hellraider.

I was shocked again... Marsiel wanted to meet Hellraider... For what???

Suddenly I remembered an important part of The Mayhem lore. Wait, could it be Hellraider will...

Geriel immediately walked toward him. Hellraider stood silent showing a confused and annoyed expression while glancing at all of us.

"We don't have time before Azkerath sets foot here. Let us go there immediately! The fleet will remain here to eliminate those monsters..."

I immediately approached Hellraider who seemed reluctant to follow Geriel's request.

"Sirrr... please agree to follow him just this once…!!! Lord Marsiel will tell you how to defeat Azkerath later... He and all of us place great hope in you..."

Hellraider looked at me again, his breath heavy again with his shoulders rising and falling, seemingly processing it. Not long after, he walked toward Geriel.

I was very grateful Hellraider was willing to heed our request.

"Very well then. Give us space to return to the ship..."

We all stepped back a few steps. One of the High Heaven ships that appeared to be the largest hovered above Geriel and Hellraider. A pillar of light emerging from beneath the ship immediately surrounded them.

Hellraider then looked at me once again...

I looked back at him with slightly dim eyes and smiled.
