Eilownia's vision swam, her chest rattling as she tried to get oxygen.
Finally, she drew her first breath, one that completely breathed new life into her.
She let out a loud groan as she rolled onto her stomach. Her body felt cracked and broken apart, her muscles ached and burned, screaming at her to stop and just lay still.
But that breath, fueled her mind. Her baby was out there crying for her.
As she put weight on her feet, she crumpled to the floor, grabbing her leg.
"ACK!" A stabbing pain shot through her.
Her breath left her lungs once again as she rolled onto her back, her hands gripping the painful area tight.
She panted and stared up at the sun.
'I've come this far. I can't give up. The sun shines so bright.....may our light never dim.....'
She rolled back onto her stomach and slowly got up, using the wall as a crutch as she avoided putting weight on her injured leg.
After a few deep breaths, she prepared herself for her journey onward.
