A quiet chuckle escaped him.
"I don't."
She blinked.
"Then what's the point?"
"The point," he replied with complete seriousness, "is that it will be easier for everyone else to push you."
She stared at him for a long moment before narrowing her eyes.
"So I've officially become cargo."
"I was thinking something closer to royalty."
"I'm fairly certain royalty usually moves under its own power."
He glanced deliberately at the thick splints supporting both of her legs.
"In your current condition..."
His gaze drifted to the bandages around her hands.
"...I'll consider breathing independently an impressive achievement."
Liora looked at him in complete disbelief before letting out an exaggerated sigh.
"You really have no sympathy."
"I have plenty."
He smiled.
"I simply enjoy reminding you that you're temporarily helpless."
She huffed, trying very hard to look offended.
Unfortunately, the expression only made him smile wider.
