Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Rick Grimes

After returning to the real world, he checked the watch he had placed earlier, in total four hours have passed, which confirms his theory that the flow of time is 1:1.

He also noticed another wonderful effect and that is that whenever he sleep at night in Minecraft, all accumulated fatigue disappears completely, now he can remain awake 24 hours a day.

He glanced outside the tent and realized that it was already afternoon, he went outside, walking around, Carl noticed that no one seemed to have noticed the previous shot caused by his pistol.

This is quite normal, the Ruger LCP is a fairly quiet weapon compared to other higher caliber pistols, besides the shot had been fired inside the forest and at some distance from the camp.

As he moved between the tents, he noticed something more important, even for a amateur person like him, the camp layout was terrible from a defensive point of view.

The tents are scattered without a clear pattern and the vehicles do not form a real barrier either, if a horde appeared suddenly from the forest, the situation would undoubtedly be chaotic.

"They are back, Andrea and the others are back!" A female voice shouted suddenly, which pulled Carl out of his thoughts, when he turned around, he saw Amy shouting anxiously.

In the distance, the sound of a car alarm echoed throughout the quarry, soon, a red sports car appeared, with a loud skid, the car stopped as people from all over the camp gathered.

The car door opened and a young Asian man stepped out of it, this is of course Glenn, however, the people of the camp do not seem to like him very much.

They quickly began to scold him to turn off the noisy alarm, Glenn felt offended but no one paid him attention, turning off the alarm with annoyed expressions.

The large truck coming behind parked just as the shrill sound stopped, the blonde Andrea was the first to get out, meeting Amy with a tight hug.

Morales also got down carrying with him a man wearing a police uniform constantly looking down, Lori and Shane were stunned when they saw him, with their jaws almost touching the ground.

At that moment, Rick also saw them, with an emotional look, he began to jog toward Lori and Shane, who were still paralyzed.

Carl did not run into Rick's arms like in the show, instead he watched the three of them reunite in silence, with no intention of joining.

"Rick!" Shouted Lori reacting suddenly, she ran toward him and hugged him tightly with tears running down her eyes.

Shane remained completely paralyzed, as if he had fallen into the abyss, for a moment, he even began to seriously doubt life, suddenly he remembered Carl's words that morning.

"What do I do, Rick came back, should I fight him for Lori? No, Rick is my brother, I cannot do that!" Said Shane mentally.

"But if I lose Lori, I will truly be left alone in this damn apocalypse, wait, no, I still have family, Rick is my brother and Carl is my godson!" Thought Shane with color slowly returning to his face.

Carl observed Shane's entire mental process, realizing that his plan worked, when he saw him relax his expression, a smile appeared on his lips.

Taking a few steps forward, Carl approached Rick, who immediately knelt down to hug him when he saw him coming.

"Carl, I am so happy to see you again." Said Rick releasing the heavy burden in his heart.

"I am also very happy to see you, dad, I also think we should thank Shane, my godfather, if it had not been for him, maybe we would not be here." Said Carl enduring the discomfort.

"You are right, Carl, Shane, brother, I know I will never be able to repay you, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for protecting Lori and Carl while I was gone." Said Rick looking at Shane.

"Rick, I am very glad you are alive, welcome back!" Said Shane stepping forward, soon, both gave each other a strong hug like the good friends they are.

However, the others only watched them with amused looks, it is obvious that it is no secret to anyone that Lori and Shane are in a relationship.

Previously, no one had cared, after all, Rick might as well have been dead and there was nothing wrong with the two being together, but now things are different.

Therefore, most of the people in the camp are secretly excited to see the spectacle that is about to arise, Carl shook his head and decided to ignore them.

...

As night fell, the group was gathered around the campfire, with Rick talking about his experiences during the last days.

"Disoriented, that is how I felt, afraid, confused, yes, but.. the word is disoriented." Said Rick with his gaze lost in the flame in front of him.

"Words are not enough, sometimes they simply are not sufficient." Said Dale noticing Rick's empty look.

The group remains silent for a moment, while the fire crackles softly in the center, suddenly, Ed, Carol's abusive husband, threw more firewood into the fire, fueling the flame.

"Hey, Ed, what do you think you are doing?" Asked Shane looking at him sideways.

"It is cold, man." Growled Ed in response, ignoring him.

"The cold does not change the rules, we must keep the fire low so we are not detected from far away." Continued Shane trying to be reasonable.

"I said it is cold, get your ass into your own business, want to?" Cursed Ed feeling humiliated, at that point, Shane lost patience, he stood up and walked until he reached him.

"Hey, Ed, are you sure you want to have this conversation?" Asked Shane and Ed, who moments before was brave, lowered his gaze without daring to look Shane in the eyes.

"Come on, put that out, come on, quick!" Snapped Ed looking at Carol, who trembled, obeying quickly.

After this small incident, silence once again took center stage, but it also made me realize a huge problem, this bastard, Ed, if I do not deal with him soon, he will become a real nuisance.

Not only because of how he treats Carol, but because in a critical situation someone like that is a time bomb, a violent, insecure and cowardly man who needs to impose himself on the weakest to feel strong is the type of person who breaks the cohesion of a group from within.

"This guy has to go.." Thought Carl.

After a while in silence, the group began to discuss how to tell Daryl what had happened with his brother Merle.

"Someone has to tell him." Murmured Glenn looking at the ground, clearly uncomfortable.

"We cannot just drop it like that, Daryl is impulsive." Added Morales frowning.

Rick sighed and ran a hand over his face, still exhausted from everything he had lived through. "It was my decision to handcuff him on that rooftop, the responsibility is mine, I will talk to him."

"No, I must do it, I was the one who dropped the keys, besides, it is possible that Merle is still alive, I chained the door before we left, the walkers will not be able to enter, now he depends on us." Said T-Dog standing up to leave.

With T-Dog setting the example, everyone began to leave to return to their beds to sleep, bringing the meeting to an end, Carl was no exception.

Fortunately, he has his own tent, otherwise, he would have to watch Rick and Lori having sex all night.

Feeling relieved, Carl entered his tent, closing it carefully from the inside, tonight he plans to return to Minecraft to continue expanding his base.

After making sure there was no problem, he opened the portal and entered Minecraft once more, it was daytime in this world.

Upon arriving, the first thing he did was check his crop farm, everything was fully grown, the golden wheat heads, the potatoes and the carrots.

After harvesting and replanting all the crops, he obtained a total of four full stacks of wheat, two and a half stacks of potatoes and one and a half stacks of carrots.

Carl used most of the wheat to craft bread and stored everything else in chests, with the food problem solved, he set himself a new goal.

"I must find a village." Murmured Carl thinking about the need for a villager farm.

He needs villagers to build an iron farm and many other things, so finding a village is the highest priority right now.

With the decision made, Carl prepared himself and began the search, advancing in a straight line so as not to lose his sense of direction, marking the path with torches and dirt pillars every certain distance to ensure the return.

Just when he was about to lose hope, he finally managed to find his objective after more than thirty minutes wandering, he regained his excitement and entered the village.

Minutes later, he came out once more dragging a boat with two villagers inside using a rope that he borrowed from a kind invisible merchant.

He also took all the valuable items from the village, including several beds, obviously he was not going to leave something that good behind given that it is completely free.

With everything ready, Carl did not waste time and began the long journey back, dragging the boat across land patiently, making sure it did not get stuck or fall into unexpected holes.

The trip was slow, but thanks to the dirt pillars and torches he had placed before, he had no trouble orienting himself.

Upon finally arriving at his base, he let out a sigh of relief and led the villagers to a closed room that he had prepared previously.

The floor is filled with crops with a single water block in the middle, at the edge of the crop area, there are two composters, with a gap blocked by trapdoors in the middle of a wall and beds on the other side.

If you pay attention, you will see a hole with a water block at the bottom, this is actually a fairly common villager farm, in this way, baby villagers will fall into the hole to be used later.

"Mm, honestly, I do not even know what your gender is, but it does not matter." Murmured Carl looking at the villager in front of him, he threw a bunch of potatoes toward the two villagers and left the farm.

Moments later, several hearts floated above the walls, indicating the soon birth of a baby.
