Chapter 8: Micah
"Where are you going?"
Dax's voice cut through the sulfurous wind, calm and unhurried. His gaze never once drifted back to the golden angel hovering behind him. His eyes where soley locked on Solos, the blood aberration fleeing across the sky like a wounded beast.
Though wounded he was fast
You are not leaving. In a blink Dax reappeared directly behind the fleeing angel, palm stretching outward like a claw. His fingers closed the distance by inches, about seizing Solos by the foot.
Like nothing a strong devouring force erupted open behind him, hungry ready to swallow, blood, and soul.
In that moment death washed over his soul filling him with raw terror that was enough to shake his divine composure.
Solos twisted mid-flight with fluid, impossible in grace. One blood-drenched then he planted a foot firmly atop Dax's outstretched palm slinging himself forward.
Boom!
He crashed blasted downward by a strange force. "Leave your heead behind."
He struck the volcanic earth with violence beneath himself the rock shattered in a perfect circle as dust and molten fragments erupted skyward in a choking plume.
Dax rose from the smoking crater, unbothered, brushing ash from his robe as though it were mere lint. The flesh of his second arm had been reduced entirely to vapor leaving only gleaming bone exposed from shoulder to fingertip.
He didn't m blink instead he took chase, shoot upward tearing through the air like a bolt, trailing black mist in his wake.
Yet no matter how fast he ascended…
The sky only grew further away.
The clouds receded endlessly. The blue deepened into an impossible void. There was no resistance, no barrier just an infinite mocking distance.
"Ridiculous. What kind of world… has no ceiling?" Dax halted mid air. I can't even sense that bloody bastard." I just wonder how he escape. Irritation sharpened in his gaze.
He descended downward, the wind screaming past him and air filled his lungs.

Ha… ha…
Solos gasped raggedly within the sanctuary of his personal domain where time and space bent to his will. His form flickered like an unstable light, edges blurring as though reality struggled to contain him.
That thing is no human. He trembled, wings shuddering with aftershocks of fear.
Its strength defied every logic I know… no mana no aura nor the adherence to the laws.
…
But his blood i must have more. His blood was able to replenish part of my original power. He could still feel his blood burning in his veins like starfire promising a gift.
"Vabon," Solos whispered into their shared consciousness. "Give me every fragment of knowledge you possess on that… thing."
…. Vabon laid no answer instantly their souls shifted as returned to the mortal vessel.
Vabon inhaled sharply, sweat soaking his pristine robes a slow reverent smile crept across his face mixed with terror , he was devoted and transformed. "…I thought i was going to die."
he breathed, eyes glowing with unholy light. "You have given me power my god, My god is benevolent."
He rose to his feet, elegant and composed once more, every movement infused with newfound grace.
"I will return godfall and make scape gote of you to my god."
—-
"Impressive," Dax murmured, flexing the exposed bones of his regenerated arm as fresh flesh wove itself around them like living silk. "He absorbed the flesh from my arm then used some type of strange vudu to escape….. that thing is very powerful.
He bent down, retrieving Cil from the shattered ground with gentle care, then hoisted the unconscious Micah over one shoulder.
But the golden angel Aron blocked his path, wings flaring wide, blade of judgment still ignited.
"You'll provoke the God of Light and the entirety of the Church by saving that man," Aron declared, voice resonant with divine authority.
"You misunderstand.. you cannot stop me just consider him dead." Dax turned his back on the angel casual anddismissive.
Then vanished.
Aron did not pursue he just hovered in silence, etching Dax's image into his immortal memory with solemn, deepening fury.
—-
Deep inside a remote cave, far from the volcanic fury of Mount Gahena, Micah laid motionless upon the cold stone floor his golden armor had been destroyed and his breath almist non existent.
Dax sat cross-legged beside tge old man, legs folded in perfect meditation. In hus concealed gazed hovered cold, ethereal text illuminated by the piercing gaze of his biochip.

"Good," Dax murmured, satisfaction softening the edges of his voice. "This is how it should be."
He leaned back against the cave wall, finally allowing his racing mind a moment of rest.
"Since arriving here, I've had no room to think just constant battles but thanks to that i have some understanding of this world."
Reflection brought clarity sharp and illuminating.
He was in a world governed by raw strength where Humans struggled to survive. While deeper entities, operate beyond visible laws
He lifted Cil, brushing a thumb along her cold, crimson edge with almost tender reverence.
"This world will suit my laboratory perfectly."
{What troubles you, Master?} Inerous asked gently, her voice a soft presence in his mind.
Dax didn't scold her growing independence. Instead, he continued thinking aloud, voice low and contemplative.
"The sky. I couldn't break past the troposphere. It just… kept rising. Like a deliberate trap." His eyes narrowed, dissecting the memory. "And how this world endured my battle with Solos? shouldn't be. The collateral alone should have shattered a vast expanse."
{Master you must first understand the foundational laws of this world…. }
He smiled, almost fond.
"Good girl."
He closed his eyes for a long moment. "I will embrace this new life." His gaze shifted to Micah.
The old man was awake barely. His eyes, clouded with pain and exhaustion. His outstretched hand trembled , fingers shaking with desperation.
"Please… sir… save my grandchild I'll soon die."
"Why are you worried old man since you will son die? You can't even protect yourself."
"Please kill me then" Micah whispered, tears carving clean trails through the grime on his cheeks as he looked at the dark cave ceiling.
"I've lost everyone I've ever loved. Please…."
"You dont know me or my capabilities why asume i can help you, and if it was possible why should i actually help you?" Dax saw the depth of the man's pain raw, carved into every line of his old face.
But curiosity outweighed sympathy.
"Sir…. I just know, no normal man will me able to save me from Aron.. pls great master is you can help me i will reward your efforts handsomely before i die, please i beg." The oldmans voice was barely a whisper but dax held conversation with him.
"I will help you but what i want is your life…. Will you be able to offer that?" Dax asked with a smile.
To his surprise the oldmans eyes widened then it deemed. "What use is a life already in its last chapter? But if that is the only way the i will let my soul sink into the depths of the abyss for eternity." He declared.
I had only intended to save and study this man but now you interest me, his desperation invited an opportunity.
A man with nothing left always bargained highest.
"Please," Micah begged, voice cracking further. "My life… my wealth… everything I have."
Dax raised a brow, interest sharpening. Micah, with trembling fingers, pulled off a simple black ring from his gauntleted hand.
"This is my spatial ring, its athousand-meter vault it contains may rare recourses obtained across my lifetime…."
Dax plucked the ring from Micah's palm like a greedy grem, fingers moving with predatory speed.
He coughed delicately into his fist, pretending like he hadn't done anything. "You will not die stranger, what is you name?"
"Micha my name is Micha blink."
"Micah.. such a powerful name. Verry well."
He reached into his storage and drew forth a familiar blade ocean-blue steel radiating ancient, holy glory.
"This was in your clothing," Dax said, placing Excalibur gently into Micah's weakening grasp.
The old man's fingers closed around the hilt instinctively, and for the first time, a flicker of hope lit his dying eyes.
